Chapter 1

A New Day

"Finally here!" I think to myself as I walk onto the campus of NOVA. I see students crossing back and forth, talking to each other, texting, on the phone etc. I look at the buildings that hold all the different classes and students. I look to my left and I see tall hot guy standing with other guys. He's holding a football and tossing it around to his buddies. His brown hair reminds me of Tyler. "Stop! You came to get away from his memories, not deepen thoughts on them." I think. I walk past him as his friend throws the football and it hits me in the head. I fall to the ground and everything goes dark.

"Hey...are you ok?" A voice says. I open my eyes a little bit. It's him. He has one hand wrapped around the back of my head and the other on my stomach.

"So...are you?" He asks again. I look up at his brown eyes. I stutter a bit before I answer.

"Yea, just tell your friend he missed his target." I say. The boy chuckles and helps me up. He bends down and grabs my things. I look at the friend who hit me.

"Sorry..." He says. I forgive him and get my stuff from the hot guy. He tells me his name is Erik. I introduce myself and his friend comes up and gives me a hug.

"My names Gavin. Sorry for hitting you again..." He says. I forgive him again.

"I could walk you to your dorm...unless your not a freshman and you know your way..." Offers Erik. My heart races as I look into his eyes again. I'm almost mesmerized. "They're so brown!" I think to myself.

"Yea...I am a freshman, but I think I know where I'm going." I say and start to walk away. Erik catches up with me and holds my shoulders to stop me.

"Are you sure? I could make sure you don't get hit by anymore balls!" He says with a smile. I smile back.

"You don't give up easy do you?" I ask. He chuckles.

"Unless you buy me a drink first." He says with a wink. I blush and I let him bring me to my room. When we get to the building, he carries my bags upstairs and to my dorm.

"Well....thanks." I say.

"Anyway, I was wondering if you'd like to go out with me later tonight. Maybe catch a movie or get some food?" He asks.

"Well....you don't seem like the kind to date rape and I'm single...I guess I'll have to say yes." I respond. He smiles and says he'll pick me up at 8. I close the door and turn around to get my bags, but there's a guy standing in front of me. I scream and punch him in the face. He falls down and moans.

"What the hell?!" He asks holding his jaw.

"Who are you?! Why are you here?!" I asks. He gets up and turns on the lamp. I look at his bruised face. Other than the bruise, he's very cute. He has black hair that covers his right eye, and bright green eyes like Tyler's. I pinch myself at the thought of him.

"I'm Daniel! I'm your roommate!" He says. I quickly apologize and get him some ice for his face. I sit him down in a chair and hold the ice on his face.

" I'm not a baby, I can hold my ice pack." He says rudely. He grabs the ice pack from me and glares at me for a second before turning away.

" Rude..." I mutter.

"If I remember correctly, you hit me." He spits. I walk away to unpack my suitcase. "Stupid slut..." I turn around glare at him. He chuckles.

"Yea you heard me." He says. I run toward him and knock him out of his chair. He screams as I tackle him to the floor. He throws his ice pack at me and it hits my shoulder. I wince at his throw and grab my shoulder. He seizes the opportunity to grab me and tackle me. He gets on top of me and squeezes my shoulders. I feel a 'pop' and I gasp. I grab his neck and roll him over so I'm on top of him. I pin his arms down with my knees and and lower my face to his.
