Kat's POV
I trudged down the cold, wooden stairs. My long black hair a mess since I just woke up. I could barely see clearly. My vision was crowded with blurriness.
Slowly, my vision came to normal as I reached the kitchen and saw Zephyr sitting on top of the counter. Beside her lay a towel with three gingerbread-men she was decorating. She looked up as I stumbled in and her face instantly crept into a smile. Her brown eyes watched me grab the milk from the refrigerator and drink it right out of the carton.
"Well I guess I'm going shopping today." She jumped down from the counter and faced me. It always felt a little awkward standing next to each other since the huge gap in height. I was about five inches taller than her and I always loved to remind her of that.
"You know you're never going to get any taller, right? I mean you're what? 23? 24?" I smiled in confidence as her grin turned into a frown.
"I'm 23...I was about to wish you Merry Christmas Eve but I guess that ship sank. While I'm gone don't eat the cookies cause they're for our families!"
"Where are you going?" I turned around and watched her pull her boots and coat on.
"To replace the milk someone had to drink out of." Zephyr announced as she grabbed her wallet and walked out of the house into the snowy wonderland. The door slammed shut behind her leaving me in silence.
"She didn't even bother to take me with!" I scoffed as I walked past a mirror and stopped in my tracks. I saw myself still in my attack on titan pajamas and my hair a complete mess. "Oh right."
I bounded up the stairs into my room which was painted a dark shade of blue. As I opened my closet my phone buzzed.
Zephyr: Remember, our family will be their in two hours. I'll try my hardest to be home by then. :)
I rolled my eyes at the smiley face and answered.
Kat: You and your stupid smiley faces. This is 2015! We use emojis!
Zephyr: Whatever.
I threw my phone on my bed and got dressed. Complete with shoes on which I never do unless a special occasion. Once I flew downstairs my phone rang. It was once again, Zephyr.
"You can't leave me alone for five minutes can you?" I answered it.
I heard Zephyr sigh at the other line and start talking back to someone. "Well, I found some of our family." It got quiet and I heard her voice more distant now. "STOP!"
"Wow. Just bring them here. Did you get the milk like you planned on?"
It took a few seconds until she replied. Her voice sounded stressed. "Y-Yeah of course I did. I have it right here."
"Cool."
"Bye."
"Bye."
It seemed instant even though in reality it was probably an hour but the door flew open. Zephyr stood in the doorway holding a cartoon of milk and a look on her face.
"They're here!" She cheered sarcastically.

It was short. I know. But, the next time I write it'll be better. I promise. :) <---- I used a smiley
I'm also really bad at writing people's point of views. I'm used to writing with no point of view so I guess I will use that as an excuse for making it short.
