A long time ago, a woman walked along a cliff that overlooked the ocean. She looked over the waters, taking in the view of the sunset. It was beautiful tonight, the clouds that hovered above the horizon were the perfect shade of peach that was often so rare to be seen. It took her breath away.
She was also very happy. She had just found out from her doctor that she was with child, after so many years of trying to create a life, it has finally happened. She had not told her husband yet, for he was away in the war, defending their country with his life. She was going to write a letter to him tonight when she returned from her friend's home for tea.
But now, with the sun setting, and the gulls crying out their good-nights to the world, she did not want to leave the spot she was standing. if there was any way for her to remain in the moment, she would stay. But she knew that she must return home and rest, as the doctor had told her to.
then, as she took a step towards her home, a gust of wind, so sudden and strong, made her loose her balance. She cried out, her hands waved in the air as she fell. off the side of the cliff she flew, scared for her life, not able to cry out. She lost consciousness before she hit the sharp jagged rocks below.
