Percy P.O.V.
"Hey! Watch where you're going!" A girl yelled.
"Ow! You shocked me!" I yelled. I had just walked around a corner and ran into a girl.
"I wouldn't have shocked you if you hadn't ran into me." She said matter of factly, with her hands on her hips.
She was about half an inch shorter then me and looked about a year younger. Her skin was a little less tanned then mine. She had shoulder length, straight, black hair. Her eyes were a beautiful electric blue. She wore a sky blue shirt, comfortable looking jeans and tennis shoes. She looked like an athletic type of girl and kind of reminded me Thalia.
"Come on! They're catching up to us!" Another girl said who was slightly tugging the first girls arm. "We gotta go!"
This girl was about the same height as me, maybe a year or two older, and was really pale. She has wavy, black hair that went to the middle her back, but when the light hit it just right you could see a hint of green. Her eyes were so dark brown that they looked black... maybe they were, but she also had a few flecks of green in her eyes, too. She wore black skinny jeans, a green tank top, black and green tennis shoes and a baggy sweater tied around her waist.
Then I saw them. Behind the two girls, three hellhounds burst through the forest, coming at us at full speed.
"Get behind me!" I shouted at the girls and pulled out riptide in pen form.
"Really! A pen!" Shouted Blue-Eyes. "What are you going to do with that?! Write your will?!"
I pulled the cap off of riptide and it grew into a sword. I heard the Blue-Eyes and Green-Eyes gasp and jump back.
I charged at the three hellhounds. I slashed at the first one and it turned into monster dust right away. The second one tried to scratch me with its claws and I dodged. Then I swung riptide at it and it jumped back, my blade narrowly missing its eye. The hellhound jumped forward, trying to bite my lower leg. I brought riptide down in an arc motion, the sword making contact with the hellhounds hide, right before it got to my leg and it burst into monster dust.
Then I heard the girls scream. I looked around and saw that the third hellhound had went after the girls. There was no way to get to the girls in time, they were too far away. It all seemed to be happening in slow motion. The hellhound jumped at the girls, claws out, jaw open. The girls scream pierced the air, as they crouched down on the ground, huddled together.
"NO!!!" I shouted.
Acting on reflexes, not knowing what I was doing, I thrust out my hands. All of a sudden a portal, that looked like a nebula, appeared right in the line of the hellhounds jump. Not having anywhere else to go, the hellhound was forced to jump into the portal and it disappeared. A couple seconds later, the portal vanished too.
The girls, who were huddled together covering themselves with their hands, slowly stood up. They started looking around, completely dumbfounded.
"Where'd that thing go? What did you do?" Green-Eyes asked, while I was looking at my hands.
"I don't know. That's never happened before." I said. Then I looked up at Green-Eyes.
The way she looked at me now was different. I could tell she was trying to hide it, but I could see right through her mask. She looked at me with fear. She was afraid of me. I look at Blue-Eyes, she was a lot better at covering up her feelings, almost as if she had practice not showing the way she truly felt, but I could still see the tiny amount of fear in her eyes too.
"Well I guess we should thank you." Blue-Eyes said interrupting the silence. Then she added, "My names Lissa, Lissa Evans." Then she extended a hand for me to shake. I reached out to shake her hand but as soon as we touched I got another powerful shock.
