She was only 15
When someone told her she was fat
So she cluchted her stomach and skipped many meals
In hopes she would lose a few pounds

She was only 15
When her boyfriend left her for another
So she wore more makeup and hitched up her skirt
In hopes someone would find her pretty

She was only 16
When no one showed up for her birthday
So she sat outside
In hopes they were just late

She was only 16
When she first cut herself
So she wore long sleeves in the summer
In hopes no one would see her scars

She was only 16
When she took her own life
So she wrote a note
In hopes her parents would forgive her

She was only a year gone
When she was finely missed
So they pleaded and moarned
In hopes she they could be forgiven
