" Beep...Beep...Beep"

I reach up, grab my alarm clock, and throw it across my room. Mornings are not my thing, especially Monday mornings.

I get up, more like roll onto the floor, then get up, and go to the bathroom to take a shower.

I get out of the shower and grab a towel to dry off with. After I dry off I go my room and get dressed.

" GUS, ARE YOU OUT OF BED YET" my mom yelled.

" YEAH" I yelled, " I'll be down in a sec." I grabbed a shirt from the floor, smelt it and put it on. I raced down the stairs, and into the kitchen to eat breakfast.

" Took you long enough to get down here, " my mom said, " Your breakfast is on the table in the dining room."

" Thanks" I said.

I walked into the dining room across the hall to eat. As I sat down my mom came in, and sat  down at her plate. Before we ate my mom said a prayer over our food, when she was done we ate.

After breakfast I went up to my room to put my tennis shoes on for my morning run.  I go down the stairs and get my backpack and gym bag from the living room, and then walk out the front door. I walk to the car, put my bags into the back seat. I started sprinting around the block, then jogging, then walking. When I was done I went into the house to get some water.

As I walked through the door my mom yelled from the living room " Done with your morning run, Gus?"

" Yeah," I answered, " just going to grab some water then I'll be ready to go."

"Beep, Beep, Beep" I picked up my phone, it was a text from my buddy, Ryder. I replied as my water bottle filled up.

" Mom I'm ready, let's go." I said

" Coming, give me just a minute I've got to turn off all of the lights." said my mom.

"Well, I'll be in the car." I said.

As I walked out the front door I saw my other friend, Josh across the street going to his truck.

"Hey, Josh." I said

"Oh, hey, Gus." he said. Josh was sixteen, so he already has his drivers license.

I was turning sixteen next week, and I was taking my drivers test on my birthday.

"Hey, Gus let's go." said my mom as she locked the front door.

She saw Josh and his new truck and said, " Hey, Josh nice truck!"

" Thanks, Mrs. Harmon," said Josh " Hey, Gus, you want a ride to school?"

"Sure," I said, " let me get my bags."

I got my bags out of my mom's car, and started walking towards Josh's house.

"Gus, I'll pick you up after football practice, okay." said my mom.

" Okay, that's fine," I said, " Ummm.... I feel like I'm forgetting something."

"Well if you remember just call me. I'm working from home today." said my mom

"Okay thanks, mom." I said.

I walked across the street to Josh and his truck, then hopped in, ready to go.
