Running After Love

Chapter 2

" Okay, so can anyone tell me who started the catholic church," said my teacher, Mrs. Shapen, " How about you Gus, can you tell us who?"

"The Roman Empire?" I said.

"Correct," she said, "Someones been studying, huh?"

"Ring"

"Okay, so don't forget to study for your test, tomorrow."  said Mrs. Shapen, as I stood up.

As I walked into the hall I heard, Ryder, yell my name from across the quad. "Hey Gus, Josh got punched in the nose by Rodney," he said.

All of a sudden everybody in the hall stopped, and started staring at, Ryder.

" He's over in the nurse's office," he said.

I started jogging towards him people to get to Ryder.  When I got to him we started walking to the nurses office.

" Why did, Rodney, punch, Josh, in the face?"I asked.

"Well, Josh was running to get to Chemistry in time, and accidentally ran into, Rodney,"he said," and  Rodney, fell down, and cracked is head open. I guess he thought Josh needed to bleed too."

" Is Rodney going to get expelled," I said, " if so, that would be awesome.  No one would have to worry about being bullied."

" Yeah, that would be great!" said Ryder.

Rodney is the toughest guy in our school. He always has combed-back hair covered in gel, and he wears lots of leather. Anyone that gets in way will wish that they hadn't.

We enter the nurse's office, and find Josh laying on the floor with a cloth,covered in blood, over his nose.

"He might have a broken nose," said the nurse, Mrs.Kelly.

" Will he be able to play in the game on Friday?" I asked. 

" Probably," said, Mrs.Kelly, " But he'll have to be careful of his nose."

" Great!" said Ryder.

" Josh what does your nose look like?" I asked.

Josh pulled the wash cloth away from his nose.  All I could see was a black, blue, and purple blob on his face.

" Blch" said Josh and I in unison.

" Well, I hope your nose gets to looking better, I mean a LOT better by Friday," said Josh.

" We got to get to class, or we'll be late." I said.
