Just so you know, this will have both the Elements of Harmony and the six keys (I think that's what you call them) in the story.
Deal with it.
~~~
It was near dusk time, and everypony was called to Princess Celestia's throne room for an announcement. As soon as they heard, they raced there as fast as they could; anxious to know what it could be. It wasn't everyday all of Equestrian ponies were called for something like this. Many thoughts ran through their heads as left hoofprints in the snowy ground...
~Twilight's POV~
I adjusted my bag as I tilted my crown to get it to stay in place. I thought about how long its been since I've worn and even used this bag. Before I had became a princess, I would wear it a lot when I went on adventures with my friends or to carry my books. Now I'm using it for a different purpose. It held something that would change the Elements we all know of.
Boom!
My ears perked up. The doors burst open as ponies flooded the once empty and quiet room. I knew what was going to happen next. I almost couldn't keep the excitement in me. But as my role I have, it had to be contained. I turned my attention to the other alicorn princesses. They kept their glance at the curious crowd ready to tell the news...
~Author's POV~
"Settle down, everypony," said Celestia in loud but calm voice.
Murmurs could still be heard but they soon faded away to a hush and drew their eyes to the speaker.
She cleared her throat. "I'm sure all of you are confused of why I brought you all here today. But there is no need to worry because I have very good news to share." She paused for a moment to await the crowd. "Today I have brought a new Element to our Keys and Elements of Harmony."
The crowd gasped in amazement and awe.
"So who's the pony that will take the place of the new Element?" A random pony said from the crowd.
"It's me." said a sudden voice. The pony walked up to where they could see her. She had a dark yellow colored coat with light green beady eyes. Her mane was mixed with a firey red and flame orange.
"It's Sunset Shimmer!!" A pony called out sounding not-so excited.
Everyone but the princesses started to whisper at each other: still not keeping their surprised stares at Sunset.
"Out of all ponies they chose her?" said a pony.
"A once banished pony is now an Element? How arrogant!" said another.
Sunset shifted her green orbs to the floor giving a sad look. Then she heard hoofsteps near her. She didn't look up. She felt too embarrassed.
"I know what you all are thinking." It was Twilight. "But what ever it is, you're wrong. She has changed. For the good." Sunset then looked up at her loyal friend, and then at the crowd. Twilight continued: "The time I had spent in the other dimension, I had gotten to know Sunset. And it wasn't her evil plans. Sunset is caring pony who had once helped me through a tough time. I learned that I can't solve everything on my own." She looked at Sunset and gave her a warm smile. "She had saved her world and even our world. That's why Celestia had chosen her to be part of the Elements, for she is the Element of Forgiveness."
The crowd went silent for a moment... Then a pony from the back started to stomp his hooves in applause. Slowly, the rest followed which lead to a irrupting applause filled with cheers.
"Thank you all everypony," spoke Sunset, " I am very glad to be a part of these Elements and I will honorably take that part to my fullest to assure the safety of Equestria."
And thank you, Twilight...
  Twilight took out what was in her bag. It was a glimmering amulet that had a charm which was a golden sun. She carefully placed around her friend's neck. It shone brightly in the setting sun pouring from the windows. Sunset admired the necklace given to her as she lifted it up to her eyes. The glow of the charm illuminated her eyes to a flash of rainbow before she had let go of it.
