It's been nearly 2 years since Camila last saw Sofi. Camila and her younger sister were walking back to the little store they owned. It provided as a money making system and a home. Then a herd of people ran towards them. She got knocked out, but before she was out like a light, she saw her sister being tugged away. Camila never saw her sister again.
Now she's sitting in the waiting area, waiting for Ally to walk out of interrogation room. After what felt like eternity, Ally walked out with a box of tissues and tears streaming down her face. Camila furrowed her eyebrows and jogged up to her.
"Hey, hey. What's wrong?"
Ally sniffled, "It's nothing, I'm fine, Mila. It's your turn anyways."
With eyebrows still furrowed, she places a quick peck on the side of Ally's head and walks into the interrogation room.
Camila sat on the metal chair and waited for someone to come in and talk.
"Oh my God, they're taking forever." she muttered. The girl decided to look around the room. Her eyes flickered to the white clock on the wall in front of her. She stared at it, counting the minutes she's wasting by just sitting there, doing nothing in particular.
14 minutes. It has been 14 minutes.
Camila looked behind her. Nothing but a bare wall. She looked to her right. Nothing. And then she looked to her left.
Why haven't I noticed that mirror before?
Camila is bored. She's bored out of her fucking mind and they seem to prolong her time here. She might as well make the most of it.
Camila isn't dumb. She's in an interrogation room. There's bound to be a mirror. And on the other side of that stupid piece of glass, there's a room where people can just look at her and say anything they want, without her knowledge. Now she knows about that stupid mirror, she can't help but start feeling gazes on her.
They're looking at me. I can feel it.
Camila huffed in annoyance and turned her chair around, making her face the mirror. With her elbows on her knees and her chin in palms, she stares directly into the mirror. It's a small one, so she can guess where someone's eyes are.
She squints at the mirror, an unimpressed gaze in her eyes and she frowns.
"What are you waiting for? I'm bored out of my mind already. Hurry up would ya?"
She continues to stare at the mirror.
"Well? Come on in and interrogate me? I've got nothing to hide. What? Are you trying to look into my soul and see if I'm lying? Listen here, you little piece of sh-"
The door bursts open and there stands a man with a folder in his hand. His stance is quite intimidating but one glance at his eyes, you see no harm.
Camila quirked an eyebrow up. "Well look who decided to join the party. Did you get sick of looking at me from the other side? Decided to look at me face to face instead through a piece of glass? Or are you here to join in on the staring contest? You know, I can just stand and you go ahead and take the chair. Yeah?"
"Sit down, Ms. Cabello."
Camila rolled her eyes and sat down, the chair now facing the table. "How do you know my last name?"
The man sighed and threw the folder onto the metal table.
"My name is Sergeant Harrington. I am here to inform you, that you are in danger. The woman you encountered is bad news, Ms. Cabello. And now that you've had contact with her, I'm afraid that you will have to be put under surveillance." he paced back and forth with his hands behind his back. "If you look in the folder, it will tell you everything about her."
