Chapter three. We should catch up.

Lexi's pov.

My family used to live in the same town where his father owned a horse range. I practically grew up with him at that range. Frankie used to work there to help his father, didn't you? I petted his back.

Yes I did indeed. So how do you know eacher, he asked while nodding between my, David and Celeste. When we moved, we first went to New York, for my mothers business and then we moved to London, where I came in his Class (I was pointing towards Pieter). While I was in high school some of my brothers left already, so my youngest oldest brother left to study or whatever he does. When I graduated my father left also to take care of his company. I went to college here. Thats when I met them. And after collage I left to study law in NYC with my brother. But during my college time Pieter and his family were so kind to take care of me. I smiled at Pieter when I thought back at the memory. Then I looked at Frank who gave a reassuring squeeze. We heard a woman coughing. Frank honey who is this? We turned around but he didn't let go of my waist. Sweetheart, I want you to meet a good friend of mine, Alexandra King. I gave her my hand which she took. She smiled but it didn't reach her eyes. Lovely to meet you I said. Frank let me go to stand next to his wife? Girlfriend? Either way there was a little tension in the air. He didn't smile at her, he didn't put his arm around her waist. So, are you two together I asked to break the silence. She snorted. We've been together for what? Seven years now, my name is Jessica by the way and did he tell you that we have two kids? Expecting the third? I stared at her for what seemed like decades. What was she trying to prove? then I looked at Frank. This was actually good news but Frank looked annoyed. The tension was rising and everyone could feel it. A wife and three kids, thats a whole improvement compared the last time I saw you. I decided that a joke wouldn't hurt anyone. Although Jessica sends me death glares. So how long have you known each other. She looked at me. Still with a death glare. Uhm Frank met me about 23 years ago, when I was born. My family stayed with his and we lived there for about 5 years until we moved and I haven't seen him since. I smiled to show her I wasn't a threat, how could she think I was a threat. We are just old friends. There was a silence. Awkward.
So Lex, let me show you my new room, Celeste said gently pulling me away.
We were in her room. I looked around. You grew up I said and laughed. Yes do you like it. I nodded. My eyes widened. Cel (her nickname) who the hell is this and why didn't you say anything? I walked over to her mirror and pointed to a picture of her and some guy. She didn't say anything. Your new boyfriend I said teasingly. She blushed and nodded. My mouth was wide open. Cel do you know who this is? Uhn yes my boyfriend, Kyle. Yes true, but that is my cousin, Kyle King. We looked to each other. YEAH WE'RE GOING TO BE FAMILY! We screamed unison. You have to tell me everything. She told me that they were dating for about 2 months and that she though it became serious at least she hoped it would be. He bumped into her (according to her) and they almost got into a fight but when they were outside they were already making out. I cried from the laughter. She also told me that Frank moved here 7 years ago. He started teaching at my old high school and he met Jessica (so that was that crazy woman's name) and the rest you know. Okay I'm calm enough to go down stairs now I said taking a deep breath. We went down stais and Celeste left me alone at the food table. I ate some snacks, well actually I was stuffing them in my mouth. Until I had the feeling someone was watching me. I looked on my left and I saw Frank standing there with a huge grin on his face. What? I was hungry. I laughed. Hm judging your behavior you haven't changed a bit. I gave him a glare. Jessica is a whole improvement compared to Jade I said turning towards the food. Don't worry about her, she has hormone fluctuations. I looked up to him. I smiled. Don't worry I don't. he smiled back. I know you don't. He opened his arms and mentioned me to come over and hug him. I raised my eyebrow. Does your wife approve, you hugging another girl? I don't need her permission, now come here or I come over. I stared at him, for a minute. I opened my arms too and I gave him a hug. I've missed you, little one. I've missed you too, Frankie. We released each other. We should catch up. I'm dying to know what you've been up to. Frank smiled. So am I.
