Around 8 o'clock, I decided to visit David. Dad was a little tipsy last night because he drank a few beers so Mom accompanied me to the hospital. I wanted to tell him about Dann's text. We arrived at the hospital. I think the nurse noticed me from yesterday so she approached us.
"Hi Ma'am. I just want to inform you that David is an out-patient. He left the hosptial around early morning. Maybe 3 o'clock." The nurse informed me.
"Is he alone?!" I got shocked.
"Don't worry Ma'am. Our ambulance made sure he would arrive home safe." The nurse replied with a grin.
"Thank you so much." I told her.
Mom and I went to David's house. We had a few wrong turns, but we eventually arrived to David's house. Mom honked the car horn. The guard looked at our plate number.
"You guys visiting someone?" The guard asked.
"Yes officer. We will visit my friend David. Is he here?" I replied.
"Oh. Are you Monika?" He asked me again.
"Yes I am." I smiled.
"Oh. David told me to give you this." He replied.
It was an envelope. Sealed and scented. I opened it carefully. It said:
Hi Monika. I am all better! The doctor said I should just take a few pills and I'll be a lot better. Could you meet me at that new resto? It's important. Very important. See you there!

I told Mom and asked her if I'm allowed to go. She nodded.
"YES! THANKS MOM!" I kissed her and hugged her tight.
Minutes passed and we were at the resto. I noticed another letter on the floor. It said:

It was obviously mine so I opened it. It said:
Follow the petals and pick each and every one of it.
I picked out every petal along the way and I finally reached the restaurant doors. Two kind waiters opened it for me. Like I was a princess. I stepped in inside and saw amazing chandeliers. Made out of teddy bears! It was like a dream. A waitress sat me down on the chair at the middle of the room. It felt strange because one, there was no people at all. Just the waiters and waitresses. Two, because I felt like I was in a movie. Like those movies where they tie you up then beat you up. I was starting to sweat. I started to panic. Then, out of nowhere, David came out holding two plates. He gave me my plate and he sat down with his. It was their famous Greek soup. It was amazing. It was delish. We didn't talk for the entire meal, but we always had eye contact. Talk about awkward. After that delightful meal, David finally spoke.
"How's the food?" He asked me.
"Very good. Um. David. I wanna talk to you about something. About my life. Is that fine?" I replied with a question.
"Yeah sure!" He answered with a smile.
"Well... It's Dann. He chatted with me yesterday. He lied about having a new girlfriend but he said he still loves me." I told him.
Instantly, his smile turned into a big frown.
"Oh. So. You two are getting back together?" He asked.
The pain in his eyes. I saw it all. I'm sure it hurts. A lot.
"Of course not! I know who my heart wants." I told him.
"Oh. I thought my plans would be ruined." He replied.
He asked me to wait for him. Minutes later, he came out with a huge wrapped box. It had my name on it. He gave it to me and smiled.
"Open it." He demanded in a sweet way.
I opened it slowly. The first thing I saw was a huge, white, furry teddy bear. Teddy bear! The next thing I saw was like the biggest notebook I've ever seen. It was so big. Like three times than the regular one. Wow. Finally, I saw the last gift. It was a shirt. I opened it and it said:
MEANT TO BE
Then, I looked at his shirt and saw:
YOU + ME =
I thought of it for like a minute. Please pardon my slow analyzation. I eventually got it. It was so clear.
YOU + ME = MEANT TO BE
"If not forever then let us make it a life time. I want to be with you. Kind-hearted, funny, and a one-of-a-kind young lady. Will you please be my missing piece? My painful missing piece on my heart." He asked.
I cried. That was the sweetest thing anybody did for me.
"Of course David. I like you too!" I answered him.
And he hugged my tight. I hugged him tighter. After the hugging session, he kissed my hand and he offered me a dance. While dancing, he held me tight. Like someone is going to steal me from him. He felt so special on the very first day he said 'hi'. I was right. I would find someone way better than Dann. And maybe this time, he won't leave me. After dancing, David and I went outside to tell Mom.
"Mrs. Lim, I was wondering if I could like your daughter in a more-than-a-friend way? I promise I will try not to hurt her." David asked Mom.
"Take care of her David. If you break her heart, I would break yours. Haha." Mom replied with a giggle.
Mom called Dad to tell the news. I heard Dad's scream. In a good way. It was an amazing lunch surprise. I didn't know that David ordered Mom some food as well. How thoughtful.
We decided to talk about each other's good sides and our flaws.
"I really like that you care about my parents too. You're sweet and caring. You should be more confident. You're an amazing guy! Don't hide it. You also need to be open about telling your problems to me. I'm still and will always be your best friend." I told David.
"Yeah. I guess I should. I'll try... Well, you're just an outstanding and beautiful girl. You're so sweet and awesome. I think you should stop over-thinking. It hurts you. I can tell." He adviced me.
I nodded. I think I will. And it's true actually. It hurts me. I held his hand. He looked at me. He seemed so happy. What a wonderful day.
"I had a great time with you. Thank you for everything. I like you!" I told him.
"Me too! I hope you're happy today because when you're happy, I'm overwhelmed. I like you so much!" David replied with a little kiss on the forehead.
After that, David requested for a quick selfie. Haha. How cute.
"I think that one looks better." I told him.
"Yeah. But you look amazing on both photos." David replied.
"Stop it! Haha." I told him.
After that, Mom and I decided to go home and rest. It was like 6 o'clock already.
"Thank you for everything Mom! Love you." I kissed her cheek.
"Welcome Dear!" Mom kissed my cheek.
I went upstairs, changed into PJs and went to sleep. Today was the bestest, happiest, mozt amazing day of my life. I will always cherish that moment. I will never ever forget it. And yeah. When two broken hearts collide, they kinda make a whole. And that whole will be perfect no matter what.
