The Moment I Knew: Chapter 3
“Okay,” I breathed.
“I can do this,” I muttered to myself.
You must be wondering what I’m talking about, right? Well, I’m standing out here in front of this enormous building. And I’m about to step inside the front door with students giving me curious looks.
Time passed by in a blur. After the day I met Allen, my mom bought me a new car which she made me use to buy some school stuffs for my new school. So basically, I spent the whole day exploring different stores and merchandises just to prepare myself when school starts.
The next day, mom and dad left the house with only me and Faith alone. We just stayed home all day, baking stuffs and having some movie marathons. And then the next day which is Sunday. As always, mom and dad head to work while Faith and I stayed home again.
The next day, leads me to where I was standing now. After calming my nerves, I headed towards the front door of Crestmoore High. Ever heard one of those stories about a new girl entering to her new school and then everyone will pause and stare at her as if she’s making a grand entrance? Well, you can say that is very much happening now to me. Such a cliché, I might add.
I kept my head low and followed the school’s directory guidelines towards the principal’s office to receive my schedule. When I reached the receptionist’s desk, a woman in her early 30’s greeted me with a, “Hi,” and a polite smile.
“Hello, I’m here to get my schedule,” I said smiling back at her.
“Okay, what’s your name?” she asked as she turned to her computer.
“Dane Foresman,” I replied.
She typed my name and printed my schedule then gave it to me, “Here’s your schedule. Good Luck on your first day,” she bid.
“Thanks. Bye.” I murmured.
After I exited the principal’s office, I decided to search for my locker before going to my first period which is Literature. I was examining the locker numbers while walking on the hallway when I heard my name being called, “Dane! Hey!”
I frowned then turn around to find out who it was when I immediately recognized the familiar dirty blonde haired boy with hazel eyes.
“Hey! What are you doing here?” I asked smiling when he caught up to me.
“I could ask the same thing,” he replied, releasing a soft breath and stood by my side.
I laughed, shaking my head with a grin then replied, “I was enrolled here by my parents. Apparently, I will be attending this school until senior year.”
