Time was going by slowly, second by second, minute by minute, all too slowly. It would have been okay if it had been slipping by quicker or if time would pause and let me collect myself, but no. Each tick that came from the clock was slowly then the last. It was beginning to tick me off. I wanted to leave.

"Daniel?"

I took my eyes off the clock on the wall and looked at Sara and smiled.

"Yes?"

She sighed. "I know you don't want to talk about it but Daniel, I want to help and we don't have much time left until-"

"Why do you think time goes by so slowly?" I asked, cutting her off, pointing at her watch.

"I don't know." She simply replied.

"Aw, come on! I'm sure you have wondered that too!" I said, smiling wider in hopes she would share her thoughts.

"We only have a few more months, then you'll be on your own unless you decide to find someone else to see you. Please, just let me help. It'd make me happy. You'll feel better, too." Sara pleaded.

"Oh, that's right. Only eight long, boring, uneventful more months until I turn eighteen. I can't wait to be an adult with a boring life," I rolled my eyes and chuckled. "Do you think life is pointless?"

Sara seemed interested now and I mentally patted myself on the back.

"I don't think it is. What do you think?" She questioned.

I laughed a little louder this time. "Really? Sara, how on earth is life meaningful? You are born, you cry and eat and poop. Then you grow up and little by little, reality crawls onto you then BAM!"

Sara jumped slightly and I laughed one more time.

"It hits you! Reality slaps you! Life is only exciting when you're a child, when everything seems happy. Then you grow up and you realize you have to actually do things and work to keep yourself alive in a world you weren't asked to be in. It's pointless! What people should be doing is having fun, don't you think? Life isn't just about work. Why not just do whatever the fuck you want, go have sex with as many people as you want, go do as much drugs as you'd like, go waste your money on useless junk you don't need, who cares? In the end, we're all going to die so why not make the most of this shitty life and die knowing you did what you wanted and you had a fucking blast!" I said, standing and holding my arms out, a big grin plastered on my face.

Sara didn't seem bothered or moved by my outburst; she looked slightly annoyed and I couldn't lie and say I didn't think it wasn't funny.

"Well, Daniel, that's life and reality. But I do see where you're coming from." She adjusted her glasses and I took my seat again.

"Why so serious?" I snickered, quoting Joker from BatMan.

"How is your mother?" Sara asked out of the blue.

I said nothing, pretending I didn't hear her question and ran my fingers through my hair.

"You know, it hasn't rained in a long time. What, half an hour? Wow London, what's going on?" I said but Sara's face showed no humour.
