THE ATTACK

CH.3 mystery beasts

MARY'S P.O.V.

Vi and ash were both being really nice to me, even more than usual. I knew why though I usually worried a lot and after today they more than likely thought I would snap. But im not though if anything this has sort of brought out my braver side. Right now was a prime example of that new found bravery.

While everyone else was cowering in their tents towards the middle of the ring of fire we had made I was right by the edge I wanted to make sure it was working. I wasn't entirely possitive about what had attacked us but i knew it was weird. I looked over and saw my friends head into their tent. they werent as athletic as me, so Iwasnt really wasnt that tired. Suddenly a flash of grey shot from the tree line and I caught a glimpse of one of our assailants. I knew that animal! I recognized the lithe shape and sleek coat of my favorite animals outlined against the fire the only problem was that the creature I was thinking of didn't have red eyes.

"figure that out later mary" I whispered to myself and ran fo Ash and Violets tent. I burst in shaking the sleeping Ashton who blinked up at me probably wondering what I was doing. I took and deep breath and calmly whispered "I know what they are."

ASHTON'S P.O.V.

OK she got my attention! my eyes must have looked like they were about to pop out of my head because Mary supressed a giggle. which is weird cause my little sister has NEVER giggled she must be really hyped up about this. "well SPIT IT OUT !" I said "what are those things."

"It's wolves Ash I saw them checking out the fire" she said.

Wait WHAT did she just say she saw them?!?!?!? What in the world was she doing that close to the edge of our protective barrier."Mary what were you doing out there you could have been taken" I said freaking out.

"I'm sorry Ash" she defended herself "I just wanted to see if the blaze was working and one came into the light and i saw it they are wolves Ashton they are WOLVES this means we can tell the athorities and they will be killed that way no one else gets attacked and and ............" Mary babbled

Suddenly there was a lot of noise outside. I shook Violet and rushed outside yelling for her to watch Mary. when I stepped out I couldn't help but remember what had happened only hours before when the first attack had happened. The "wolves" as mary called them had broken through the fire and were all over the place. Screams echoed through the forest once again. I couldn't believe this was happening again this couldn't be true. "VI MARY IT'S TIME TO GO" I yelled at the top of my lungs and ran for a gun. we had to get out of here and if possible take some of these things down on the way. If they were just wolves then all i had to do was shoot them.

TWENTY MINUTES LATER......

I shot at the animals once again this was so weird how was this not working. after a good look in that clearing i knew they were actually wolves.But somehow the bullets simply passed through them not causing any harm at all. this was impossible.......

Cliff hanger again sorry can't help it it's just how i write :D By the way my older brother posted a story its a zombie book called the virus trilogy book 1 infection if you dont mind check it out i promised him I would say something in my next chapter so ya anyway comment vote fan :D
