The girl's tears fell silently down her cheeks as she bit her tongue to refrain herself from actually sobbing, not wanting to be heard.
She was lost and scared and had nowhere to go.
She covered her ears as she sniffled, trying to drown out the screams of terror of those whose lives were being robbed of them.
She crawled from behind the piece of metal that shielded her from the fight. That's when a shadow draped over her small figure. Her big blue eyes stared at the giant man's scary black leather boots in fear before tracing her eyes all the way up. The man's eyes were dark, he was well-built, but didn't seem to pass the age of twenty. He looked ticked off, but as his dark eyes met hers they seemed to soften.
He reached out his hand for the terrified girl to grab. The six year old looked at the gruff hand of the fearsome man with hesitation. If there's one thing she remembered, it was that she should never trust a stranger in times like these.
"I come in peace, girl. I know who you are. I mean you no harm," the man spoke softly. His voice calm even though the circumstances. He acted like he'd seen hundreds of battles like these.
The girl sniffed rubbing her eyes with sleeve that was too long for her tiny arm.
"M-m-my daddy. I l-l-lost my daddy," she sniffled.
The young man bent down on one knee to her height. "It's okay. I'll find him. I'm Dylan," he reassured her, "I'm with the resistance and I need you to trust me, can you do that?"
She nodded her head, wiping the tears of her face and putting up a brave front. "What do I do?" she asked him.
"You see that droid over there?" he asked her pointing to a figure, a football field away, "I'll take you there and then you'll go to the x-wing. I'm gonna get you out of here, okay?"
She carefully reached out to grab his giant hand, compared to hers. He grabbed onto her hand and pulled her with him, staying low and behind the ruins of the once beautiful town, he guided swiftly them through the chaos, the flashes coming out of the blasters illuminating their path. He picked her up and rushed to the droid.
When they reached their destination, he set her down. "Look, those guys with the white masks, they're trying to get to you," he explained in a hushed whisper, "They're looking for you. And they're not good people. You should never trust them."
The white red-contoured droid bleeped as he rolled over to his now-former master.
"Now R2-K2 will help you go to that ship," he petted the small droid as the six year old kid stared at in awe, "I've installed a favorite toy of mine into the thing, so the only thing you have to do is push a button. Can you do that for me?"
She nodded animatedly and the man prayed in a sigh that she understood what he had said.
"Okay, I'm gonna go look for your daddy now. Good luck, Maya." he breathed as he stood straight.
"Kay, g'luck, Dylan," she smiled for the first time since he had seen her, she seemed very hopeful and Dylan's lip twisted in a small sad smile as he felt a pinch in his gut when he turned to leave the kid all alone in the cruel world.
The toddler walker over slowly to the robot that was standing still. He bleeped telling her to follow him. And follow him, she did. Away from the raided town and the greedy hands that would do about anything to present the daughter of the Jedi master to the lord of darkness.

"No matter how hard you try, you can't get rid of darkness because it doesn't exist. It's nothing but the absence of light. In order to effect darkness, you must do something with light, because the light is the only thing that actually exists."
-Maya
One does not know light from darkness until they're exposed to both of them. The reasoning behind that is because one cannot simply have either one without the other.
Darkness is everywhere, it doesn't matter whether you see or not. It always lurks in the corners waiting for the light to go to finally strike. And you can't stop it. But what you can do is turn on the light.
The galaxy is pretty big, very spacious, in Maya's opinion.
But instead of the galaxy being united with itself. The beings divided it into three parts due to that darkness. You have those who let themselves be seduced by the sweet lies the darkness tells, those who simply let the dark ones rule their lives, and those who do not.
Now, those who do not let the darkness rule their doing formed an order. The Resistance. The dark ones did not appreciate it very much and wish to put a stop on those fools' goals. But the thing is, light can extinguish the darkness whereas darkness has no say in that. But what the darkness can do is lure those who turn on the light and wrap their minds and souls with the darkest of thoughts and powers.
When a girl named Maya was born the Galactic Empire saw their chance to not only break one of the keenest heads of the Resistance and biggest enemy, Obi-Wan Kenobi, but to inveigle one of the yet-to be most powerful people to the dark side. What an ultimate weapon it would be, the legacy of one of the most powerful men in the history of the galaxy.
The Resistance, however, saw the set coming and therefor had Maya hidden in a humble village with not much to offer, not on all the maps, but it kept her safe.
That was up until she reached the age of six when an unknown traitor contacted the Republic and told them about her whereabouts, leading them to raid the small town.
A pilot named Dylan rushed to her and helped her escape the ruthless massacre and sent her away with a droid.
The village was stomped to the ground in ashes. She never knew whether her savior made it or not.
Now, Maya was a wanderess who roamed the galaxy, hidden from the Empire's eyes, the droid still by her side when she felt a disturbance in the force. A message was sent to her from her father telling her that he needed her help. She kept in touch with her father, occasionally, but hadn't seen him since she was nine due to safety measures and the fact that he took a step back and hid.
Maya never knew how much one small trip could not only have such a big impact on her life, but on the galaxy.

what you just read was written by me at 4am because you see, i have this amazing talent called procrastination. i leave every single fucking thing to the last moment because i get distracted by the wonders of the internet while i'm writing and then i'll say that i'll write it tomorrow. ugh. anyway, my brother and i rewatched all the star wars movies and i fell in love with the idea of this story. and wednesday i went and saw the new one [maybe spoiler? my poor heart couldn't take it and i'm in love with bb-8 and rey and i ship poe and finn] so guess what sequel i'm currently working on. i'm making a star wars vii fanfic. and it's going to be up soon. i already have a character all i need now is a love interest, or should i just leave her single? please give me some suggestions, but not kylo ren for a certain reason that i won't say. also, like always i'm making a playlist and i'd love it for you to give me some of the songs you'd think fit the character. why do i always make these a/n's so long? okay, bye, i love you xo.
