He feels like a predator, that's just the adrinaline talking but then again he sound the same at the last part about being a defender, it's quite sweet how he feels like a protector, well he is actually, i wonder if I'm a pack member now.
"Earth to Beonca!" Rune shouts.
"Did I space out?" I ask and he nods then takes a drink of whatever he's drinking. "Is that alcohol?" I ask him.
"No Beonca, I can't drink alcohol." Rune replies.
"Of course you can just don't drink too much." A voice says.
"Calm down Alex, you know why I don't drink." Rune says to his brother. Then he walks away without a word.
"Umm, what was that about?"
"Typical Alex, he never speaks unless he has to. Might not see him after tomorrow though."
"Why not?"
"He's leaving he just came to check on the camp area and then go see dad then he's done."
"Excuse me for a while." I said and left before he could respond I went to the punch table. I got a drink and i was there by myself until alex came beside me.
"Are you and my brother dating or what?"
"You could aleast say hello before you ask about my personal business" I snap but luckily no one heard.
"I'm sorry good evening miss hewes, are you and my brother dating?" He said in a polite tone.
"Yes, we are. Why so interested?"
"No comment." He says and trys to leave but I stop him.
"Speak."
"I'd advise you to let me go."
he's the oldest Hayes brother, oh and try not to get him angry. Maria's words it's best to listen to them.
He realizes that I have no intention of stopping him again so he just continues to walk, a few seconds later I see rune and kev coming towards me.
"Did he say something to you?" Rune asks and I shake my head.
"you should stay away from him he's our brother and all but he's not the best person for you to hang with." Kev says. "It's after 1, people it's light out! Banquets is over." Everyone hears the words from kev and all sigh before leaving.
Rune being a gentleman walks me to my room and plants a kiss after saying goodnight. He's sweet i can't believe i thought he was this horrible guy. I kinda feel bad for that still and the fact that the girl I called 'slut' with was actually his cousin. Reflecting on this night makes me laugh, I guess everything isn't what it seems like. I wonder why kev didn't say anything. I'll ask him tomarrow, wait it is tomarrow so i'll ask him at sunrise.
I went to sleep and by 7:00am, I heard a knocking on my door as I opened the door I saw Maria crying and, held me by my hand and pulled me outside. I fell to my knees at the sight kev was on the ground shirtless and his entire body was covered in deep cuts.
"Oh my" I said "how'd this happen? Where's rune and alex?"
"They went out lastnight and didn't come back" Maria replied
"Went where?" I ask.
"They went out with Kev but they didn't come back" she replied.
"Oh my, get Kev to the infermary." I ordered and left to find dave and kyle.
I searched the compound and found dave and kyle at the lake, they looked sad and lost. I wonder if they already know.
"Dave! Kyle! Something terrible happened Kev got...."
"We know" dave replied
"They went out and sacrificed they're lives for you. The tides at the river lowered too earlier and so the lycans crossed the borders. They went out knowing they would die." Kyle said staring at lake.
"Why didn't you guys go too?"
"Alpha's orders." They both said.
"You said they sacrificed themselves for me. Why?"
"Firstly, your Rune's girlfriend. Secondly, your a hybrid. Not a normal hybrid your father is of royal blood and so was your mother that why your so speacial and wanted by the lycans, they believe if you stay alive the evolution of hybrids will be too great, their objectives are to kill all hybrids and all those who try to stop them." Replied dave.
"So what now?" I asked
"Don't ask us, none of us are next in line for alpha." Kyle replied
"So who ...."
"You are Beonca, but you aren't ready." Dave said and left with Kyle. They walk a distance and looked back at me.
"Aren't you coming?" Kyle asked.
Quite unsure of what I'm doing, I find myself following them into the forest. The forest of surreal. Not long after we find a cave in a cliff side they're were a lot of ravens in the area, which was really creepy.
"Beonca watch out!" Suddenly I feel someone's hand pull me.
"You have to watch your surrounding." Dave says.
"Was that bird poop?" I ask
"Yes and no. This forest is name surreal for a reason, everything here is never as it seems like that bird poop for example it's still bird poop but it has strong acidic content that can kill you and it's explosive." Dave explains.
After which we enter the cave, it was completely dark and i heard growling. Suddenly i felt something brush against my feet. Then in the darkness i saw white teeth like that of a wolf and glowing yellow eyes then they vanished, a man in a full black suit with a white hair then came out of the shadows.
"You must be beonca, I've heard a lot about you. My name is johnathan hayes, though it's good to see you again, why are you here?"
"Well... um..." i can't find the words to say so dave interjects.
"Your sons Kev, Rune and Alex went out last night at Around 3am, and kev returned battered and unconcious, Rune and Alex however did not return. At the moment lord hayes I say we make Beonca our Alpha until Kev is concious again." He says and I jump back.
"Wait I can't be Alpha, I'm not ready, I can't even fight. What use do i have?"
As I said this I realize that Rune's father was chained, he realized that I saw and step back into the shadow's.
"Why are you chained?" I ask
"As you know I am sick, the only way to stay alive is to say chained in this cave. Until i decide it's my time to die... Beonca come closer" he says a I walk towards him and stopped he placed his hands on my cheeks and kisses my forehead.
"You are the new Alpha." He says and I suddenly feel the wild animal insticts take over and I suddenly know what i must do to find Rune and Alex. I leave the cave heading to camp.
"Look after her, she's our only hope."
"Yes sir." They reapond and leave..
