Your P.O.V.
I've never really been popular. A few good friends are all I'd ever strived for and now, I had that. Sophomore year was going to be the best year ever...or so I thought...
I wake up to the sound of rumbling coming from outside. I look out of my window and see a U-HAUL next door. "New neighbors already?", I think to myself as I get ready for the first day of 10th grade. I throw on some skinny jeans and a 5SOS shirt with some black combat boots. I then straighten my hair and brush my teeth before I do one quick look around my room, making sure I'm not forgetting anything. I hop down the stairs and out the front door, shouting a quick "Bye mom" before closing the door. I stroll down the sidewalk, not wanting to be at school any earlier than necessary. 1st period didn't start for another 40 minutes or so, well... like 20 by the time I get there. Anyways, I can't help but be a little excited.
"Y/N!", I hear as I walk into hell. A.K.A. Woodbury High School. I turn and see Rocky, Elizabeth and Alexander, 3 of my best friends huddled around my locker, waiting for me.
"There's this new kid that looks like the poster child for bad behavior", Elizabeth giggled.
"Really?", I asked, a bit intrigued."
"Yeah, and speaking of..." Rocky slyly gestures behind me.
I turn to see a tall, slightly muscular figure with chocolate brown, slicked back curls and a jean jacket with the sleeves cut off that screamed 'Bad boy'. I didn't realize I was staring till his bright green eyes locked on mine. He smirked and stood in front of me, towering over my small, mesmerized body. His mouth began moving and I only caught the last word. Something about a locker.
"What?", I asked snapping out of my trance.
"That's my locker.", he stated in his deep, husky British accent, pointing behind me. I almost didn't realize I wasn't at my own, that is until I looked over and noticed my bundle of friends standing at the locker beside me. MY locker.
I blush and move aside "sorry...", I mumble as I turn to my squad. "Let's go to class, guys"
My first class wasn't bad, I mean I hate math, and even more so, Geometry but I managed to stay awake. I pushed my way through the crowds of people in the hallway, finally finding my locker. I open it and find my books for next period, English with Mr. Estrada. I shut my locker and am immediately face to fa- well...chest with none other than Mr. "hot new guy" from earlier.
"I see you finally found your own locker", he says with a sly smile.
"Yeah. Finally", I laugh.
"I'm having a bit of trouble finding my way 'round here. You mind showing me to my next class?" How could I say no to that accent?
"Sure. No problem. Can I see your schedule?' He hands it to me and I scan it realizing we have four classes together, including this next one, English AND the same lunch period. Damn.
"We've got the same class, c'mon.", I say grabbing his wrist and pulling him through the chaos that was the school hallway. We make it to class a few seconds before the bell and I take my seat on the far left side, about 3 desks back and he follows, taking the seat behind me. I notice Rocky and Alexander a few rows down making kissy faces at me and new guy. I flick them off and laugh quietly. About 10 minutes into class and we are each handed 'To Kill A Mockingbird' by Harper Lee.
"I want you all to try reading at least to chapter 2 for homework tonight. I realize it's 2017 and no one reads anymore but I am a teacher. It's my job to challenge you and to at least try to teach you things and just hope to god when we let out for summer, you all have learned something, anything from me.", Mr. Estrada says. I can already tell I'm gonna like this class.
