CHAPTER THREE

When we get home we're greeted by a lovely aroma. I'm guessing mother is cooking something lovely tonight. We greet her and then head upstairs to my room. Jules puts her stuff near the bed and she goes to take a shower and immediately she's done I do the same. We both change and head downstairs so that we can go help mum with the cooking. Mother assigns as what to do, once the cooking is done we set the table and put everything on it and everything is buzzed in to come to the dining table. After about 10 minutes, everyone is at the table and we're all stuffing our faces with chicken and potatoes and all the other food that has been set before us. There's minimal chatter at the table. Once everyone is done, my young brother and sister clear everything.
Me and Jules head upstairs to my room. We turn on the TV and I switch the channel to MTV and throwback music is playing. Currently playing: Party In The USA❤❤...
I take out my nail kit so that me and Jules can have a pampering session, something we literally used to do at every sleepover. I start doing Jules' nails and then I hear a knock on the door. My sister walks in and comes and settles on my bed. I don't do much 'cause she usually does this. My sister is 10 and I love her dearly and she loves me too, we just don't like to show it. I continue doing Jules' nails and Tilda starts talking to Jules. Next thing I know Kelvin is in my room and him and Matilda are playing video games. Jules starts to doze and I'm exhausted as well. I turn on the heater in my room 'cause it's a bit chilli. I settle into the sheets and Jules does the same. Matilda rushes to her room to change and comes back and settles in between me and Jules. We all sleep peacefully.

I wake up to find I'm the only one in the bed. I hear the sound of shower, Jules is probably showering. I grab my phone and unlock to check my Instagram and Facebook. Nothing interesting...I lock it and set it back down. Jules walks out of bathroom and she greets me and I sleepily reply. I get out of bed and head to the bathroom. I wash my hair and scrub my body and then I quickly get out and brush my teeth. I head out of the shower and quickly blowdry and straighten my hair. I put my hair in fishtail braid. I quickly put on some light makeup. I pick out some ripped jeans, a black shirt with Nirvana printed on the front and a large green and black flannel. I pair that with some black Doc Marten boots. Jules is wearing a pink and white floral dress and some gold gladiators(what a girl). I decide that we should go to Mugg and Bean for breakfast. She grabs her keys and we head out.

When we get there we show ourselves a table. A waiter then quickly comes. I order an iced latte and a breakfast panini, Jules orders a continental breakfast and black coffee. We talk about what we're going to do during the day and we decide on drive somewhere out of town to teen spot we used to go to. We finish our food and pay the bill. We have no time to go back home so we each buy a bikini from the store just two shops away from where we are. Happy with our purchase, we start off.

After about 45 minutes of driving. We get there and its just like I remembered it. People dressed in colourful clothing, loads of cars, loads of teenagers and young adults. I head to the ladies bathroom and change out of my clothes into my two piece. I then put my oversized flannel over 'cause it's a little chilli. I find Julianna outside waiting with a guy standing next to her. I recognise him as Logan. He was even more built than I remember him. His hair was longer and he had definitely grown like 6 inches taller and he was definitely more handsome.
"Are you checking out my boyfriend Kenzie?" She asks with an eyebrow raised.
"Maybe I am," I let out a throaty laugh.
"Don't!! Anyway Logan this is Kenzie and Kenzie this is..."
"I know, remember I've lived here before."
She shifts from foot to foot and I laugh 'cause she seems even more nervous now that she's with him.
"Nice to see you again Logan."
"The feeling is mutual Mackenzie."
We start walking Logan and Jules lead the way and I'm walking behind them. THIRDWHEELING!!!
They're holding hands now and speaking in hushed tones and Jules cheeks are really flushed. I take out my phone to take a picture and I snap it at the perfect moment. I'm walking a few metres away from them still on my phone when I hit into something hard. I stumble back but I'm immediately caught by a very beautiful grey eyed human being. We stay there looking into eachothers eyes. I regain my composure and pick up my phone and run away.
Jules looks at me inquisitively.
"Who's the hottie?"she asks raising her eyebrows.
"I don't know, I bumped into the jerk...well he bumped into me."
"Did he tell you his name?"
"No I ran away before we uttered any words."
"Dafuq is wrong with you.."
She rolls her eyes and shakes her head.
Logan just looks on at our exchange.
She smacks me right in the back of the head.
"You're a jerk Kenzie, a big fat assed jerk."
I can't help but laugh at that.
"Back to the body comments I see."
She continues talking to Logan and I'm on my phone again. I let my hair loose so that the wind can blow through it. Julogan walk away 'cause apparently Logan is hungry and so is Jules so they go grab some food. I'm left all alone on the beach and then I feel something behind me. I turned around to see grey eyed beauty. My eyes widen and then he smiles and oh gods...he's so perfect...those pearly white teeth.
"Hi..my name is Alex..we bumped into eachother earlier."
"More like you bumped into me,"I say meaner than I had meant it to be.
"I'm sorry," he politely says,"I should have been looking where I was going."
I apologise as well.
"My name is Alex, Alex Cain."
"I'm Mackenzie McKain...you can just call me Kenzie or whatever."
"You have beautiful eyes."
I flush at that. He's literally staring daggers into my eyes like he's trying to see into my soul or something. I shift from side to side.
"Am I making you uncomfortable?"
"Yes you are."
"I'm sorry."
"You say sorry a lot you know."I chuckle
Wait, why was I even talking to this guy??
Meh...he seems nice enough.
We talk a bit more and we have somethings in common. I discover that he lives like 3 blocks away from me. We have the same taste in music and we have literally the same hobbies, he plays soccer and he also just left high school.
I see Logan and Jules coming down to the beach. They say their hellos and him and Logan start talking.
Jules whispers to me, "He looks like a frigging Greek god, did you follow him.."
"No he came to me."
She winks at me and raises her eyebrows.
I then stand up to go for a walk and Alex follows me.
"Let's go down the beach,"he suggests.
"Sure..just don't kidnap me or do anything funny."
He lets out a throaty chuckle and grins at me.
We finally get to the furthest part of the beach and we sit down and we talk some more then we sit in a comfortable silence.
"Would you like to go on a date with me?"
"We literally just met dude."
"Yes or no?"
"Lemme think about it."
"Sure thing..can I have your number so that we don't have a breakdown in communication."
I laugh at that.
I give him my number and he calls me just to make sure I gave him the right number.
We each take a picture on eachothers phones to use as a caller picture or whatever and save eachothers numbers. We start walking back to the larger part of the beach and I see Logan and Jules are still on the beach watching the sunset. Alex and I stand for a moment to watch the sunset then we walk down to go grab Jules and Logan. We all head to our cars. I say goodbye to Alex and he pulls me into a warm hug. He was a lot taller than me so I had to stretch a lot, my feet were literally off the ground.
He puts me down and I turn to Jules and I see Logan already in the front seat.
"Is Logan riding with us?"
"Yeah his car is at the garage so we'll drop him off at his house and then head home or I might just stay at his house."
"I can take you home, "Alex suggests.
"Yeah sure, she'll go with you,"Julianna quickly says.
I give her a look and she just shrugs.
I grab my things from the car and then walk behind Alex as he leads the way. We stop at a silver Mercedes. He opens the door for me and I get in. Its about 5 PM. We talk some more and he keeps on asking about the date and I decide to get it over and done with so I decide we can do it tonight. He grins really wide. We get home at around 6 PM. He tells me he'll pick me up at 8. I rush up to my room to take a shower and get dressed. I text my mum telling her I'm going on a date, and she calls me sounding really excited and she tells me to be safe and to tell the kids to order pizza 'cause she'll be working late.
I quickly shower and just as I'm coming out of the bathroom Jules walks into my room.
"I thought you were staying at Logans house tonight."
"Nope."she says popping the 'p'.
"Then why did you..."
She cuts me off.
"I did it 'cause I'm your bestfriend and you two seemed like you were hitting it off so I decided to be sneaky..and I want us to go on double dates and stuff and I don'twant you thirdwheeling."
"Okay whatever."
This bestie of mine though...
I head into my closet and grab a pencil type midi skirt, a cut out crop top, my nude rock studded valentinos and a nude dusty pink clutch.
I sit by my vanity to do my hair and makeup.
Julianna shoots up from the bed and gives me a look.
" Where are you going??"
"None of your business."
I continue doing my makeup...I do a sultry yet flirty eye look and a dark vampy lip (you've probably noticed its my fave)....
I hear screeching...
"You're going on a date with him, aren't you?"
My cheeks heat up.
Jules helps me with my hair..she just put it up in a messy yet neat bun. It's about 7 30 now and I'm done. Tilda barges into my room looking rather happy.
"Some really cute guy is here asking for you...oh my gosh...are you going on a date.."she screeches.
What was with the females around me and screeching...geez...
"Yes to a your questions Tilda."
She runs out. I grab my fitted black biker jacket and head out the door. And there he is in a fitted black suit. OH MY GOSHH!!! Is he trying to kill me or what???
"You look beautiful," he says grinning at me and looking me up and down.
I bite my lip and look up him.
"You don't look so bad yourself."
He opens the car door for me and he starts driving.
"So where are we going?"
"It's a surprise."
I roll my eyes at that.
"You didn't even ask if I like surprises or not.."
"I was kinda just hoping that you like them."
"And who even plans a suprise in two hours??"
"Me.."
"This better be good."
I hope this goes well....fingers crossed.
