Chapter 2

Still paralyzed of the boys standing in the opening of the door, I heard Mr. Paxton talking but the words he spoke didn’t reach me and neither they reach Kelly.

“Shit, I knew I forgot something” Mr. Paxton said a little bit too loud, while he was looking at Liam and Harry.

The boys moved a little bit, their red cheeks revealing they felt a little bit awkward. My heart skipped a beat while I saw Liam standing in the opening hoping nobody would stare at his bright red cheeks. I looked next to me where Kelly, was checking on Harry and saw the same bright red cheeks at his face. When Kelly noticed I was watching her, her cheeks also got bright red because she felt I knew she was looking at Harry.

Mr. Paxton went to his desk searching for the paper he wrote a plan on for Liam and Harry, while he tried to introduce them to the class.

“Well class, those two boys are going to join our class for a little while. Because the keep screwing up their Chemistry and those fools have to do exam in this subject” Mr. Paxton started his introduction of Liam and Harry.

“I need only two volunteers, to help the curly one out and the one with the high quiff.” Mr. Paxton continued his talking.

All hands in class raised, mostly the hands of all the girls who all would love to hang out with Liam and Harry, not only for Chemistry. Kelly and I were the only girls who let their hands down. We looked at each other while we both thought the same: Liam and Harry in our class or maybe the rest of the school year!!

“So.. who should I pick?” Mr. Paxton said while most of the hands raised higher and higher.

"Kelly and Naomi…” Mr. Paxton said

We were so in our thoughts, we didn’t hear Mr. Paxton calling our names in front of the class room.

“Kelly and Naomi..” Mr. Paxton said when he showed up at our table, looking at Liam and Harry while he continued “You two are clearly not interested in helping out those two boys so I’ll decide I pair you up with the boys. Kelly, I want you to pair up with the curly one and Naomi, I want you pair up with the high quiff.” Mr. Paxton finished.

“I’m Harry sir…” Harry said clearly not happy but polite when Mr. Paxton called him the curly one.

“And.. I’m Liam sir” Liam said clearly feeling awkward Mr. Paxton called his high quiff because it was the only way Liam could have his hair under control.

Kelly and I looked at each other and we chuckled because we already knew their names, surnames and even their seconds names. We felt our cheeks burning because we snapped out of our dream to be Chemistry partners with Liam and Harry and we didn’t understand what we did to get our dream come true today.

 “So Kelly and Naomi, split up please and make some space next to you for the curly and the one with the high quiff”

“My name is…. “ Harry started again but got cut off by Liam who also got in a defending pose while he said “And my name is…” Right after that both boys got cut off by Mr. Paxton when he said: “ Yeah Harry and Liam we know now”.

All of a sudden this day turned to a pretty good day Kelly and I thought. I already knew I would love Chemistry so much more now Liam was my handsome partner and I start imagine him in a long white lab coat burning down something.

On the other side of the class room I saw Kelly looking at me with doubts if she liked the whole plan of Mr. Paxton.

I shrugged my shoulders up, not knowing myself it was a good or a bad thing.

Mr. Paxton moved back to the front of the class room standing next to the old school board and all of a sudden people started staring at me but also at Kelly. Their angry and mostly jealous faces revealed everything they thought about us at that moment. I already know it was because we got paired up with the two hottest boys in school, while we weren’t jumping and going crazy when Mr. Paxton searched for volunteers.
