The life in the log cabin was exactly what Kelly needed. The freedom she felt in the forest at the beautiful lake was just amazing. She doesn’t felt this free in her life for a long time. The biggest part of the night was already over but at 4am Kelly woke to feel the strong arms of Harry around her waist.
When she felt Harry turning around the grip tighten a little bit more.
She was staring at the ceiling and then at her alarm clock, sleeping was over.
All of a sudden she felt the need to go out of the bed, but first she had to think about how to do it without waking up Harry. She said to herself she would be back at the time Harry would wake up so he doesn’t notice she was just away.
Harry turned around again, slightly losing the grip. Kelly doubted not a moment and freed herself of Harry’s holding. She felt cold without his arms around her but she really wanted to go outside. She dressed in a sweater and sweatpants and her converse, her beautiful hair in a ponytail.
She opened the door as quiet as she could and the closing part was the hardest. Still Harry didn’t woke up and she reached the front door without any problems. In the days before Kelly found a place in the forest where she could see the mountains but also the forest and the lake all in one perfect view. She didn’t tell Harry about the spot she discovered since it became her spot to think through her feelings sometimes.
When she reached her spot she turned to take the blanket out of the hollowed tree and she sat on it watching the morning falling in. With the sun coming up she realized she was happy, more than happy. Harry was everything she needed and the whole fight was making her feel she loved him even more despite all the names her called her.
After all she believed the whole fight thingy was good for both of them and now she was in his log cabin with no one around to ask them stupid things, to bother them with stupid things just Harry and her. The sun was above the water and the colors where beautiful. Kelly closed her eyes to see the orange color from the inside of her eyes. When she felt sad she always closed her eyes and looked at the sun. It made her warm and happy again.
With her eyes closed she forgot the world around her, but she also forget about the plan she had to be back in time to wake up next to Harry. When she was about to open her eyes she looked at her phone and the time of 7:30am scared the crap out of her.
Harry always was an early bird. Most of the time he woke up at 7:30am but if he sleeps more or got to bed late the night before he could sleep to 8:30am. His personal record was 8:35am in the morning and Harry was really proud he slept 5 minutes longer then the time he usually woke up.
Kelly felt bad she forgot the time but also know that when she got back to the log cabin Harry must have woke up already. She began to feel guilty but she closed her eyes again and enjoyed the shining and warmth of the sun again. The feelings of guilt disappeared and she was curious what would happen if Harry woke up without her by his side.
The only way to find out what would happen was to stay on the hill and her secret place where she also had a small peek on the log cabin.
At 7:45am she checked her phone again. A message from Harry was lighting up the lock screen asking where she was. She wanted to reply but once again her curiosity took over and she didn’t reply at all.
About 2 whole minutes later her phone started to buzz but it didn’t stop. Harry was sending panic messages and she felt like he was turning the whole log cabin upside down because he thought they were playing a game of hide and seek.
Kelly always knew she was the better player in hide and seek than Harry because he always started laughing, sneezing, coughing or took his breathe too loud so Kelly would find him sneezing under the bed or in a knot in the lower part of the shared closet.
She even found him behind the curtain when he tried to hide as good as he could. By peeking his feet under the curtain Kelly knew he was hiding there and she stepped accidentally on his feet seeing Harry falling from behind the curtain shouting and cursing because it hurt.
At those moments Kelly couldn’t stop laughing and with the tears streaming down her face she saw Harry jumping on one foot through the room still shouting.
Her phone stopped buzzing for a moment but she counted the time and after 30 seconds it began to buzz again. Harry was fully in panic and showed her a pic of the bedroom being a mess. A picture of the living room, closet, bathroom and kitchen followed and then a selfie of Harry looking sad with big puppy dog eyes.
Looking at that pic Kelly started laughing but she still didn’t respond to any of his messages. She just looked over the water and started to laugh when she thought of Harry turning the cabin upside down and the mess he probably would make.
At the moment she was about to stand up and free Harry of his panic attack she saw the door flying open, seconds later Harry came out struggling with his own sweatpants and his bare upper body. While he was trying to pull on his sweatpants, he wanted to run out of the log cabin at the same time.
Sticking his foot in the sweat pants he was running with his other foot but he lost his balance.
With a loud “OUCH” and the leaves that came up, Kelly knew Harry was stuck in his pants and he tripped over it.
She couldn’t help but she laughed loud and almost betrayed her place where she was hiding.
From the distance between her and the log cabin she heard Harry shouting and cursing. Before he stand up he first put on his sweatpants safely before he would run again. Kelly was walking back and the closer she came, the better she could see Harry’s face.
According to his face she knew he was falling down at the wrong place. In the middle of his fall Harry discovered a huge puddle of mud and he got all in with his whole face.
Harry’s face was covered in mud and she started to laugh again, this time way too loud so Harry heard it and looked in her direction. The tears were streaming over Kelly’s face while she had to sit down to take a proper breath.
Harry walked in her direction and he was quite mad, so mad he would throw her into the lake. When he saw his girl laughing so hard he knew he had done something good. He always enjoyed it to make Kelly laugh.
“Kelly, what did I do to make you laugh so hard and loud with all those tears?” Harry asked curious
“Y-Y-Y-Your… whahahahaha… Your face” Kelly laughed not able to talk properly
“What’s with my face?” Harry asked more curious now
With that Kelly took her phone out of her pocket and made a picture of Harry looking confused and curious at the same time.
Shooting the picture made Kelly laughing even more so the tears started to stream over her face again. She hold her phone in front of Harry while he was looking at himself with his face all covered in mud.
Kelly was laughing and sat on the ground again and before she could do anything, Harry picked her up and took her to the dock.
With a big and hard swing he let Kelly go and the result became too funny for Harry this time. He saw Kelly flying through the sky and with a big and loud splash Kelly landed in the water.
Harry’s knees got weak from Kelly’s face when she came above the water again and this time the tears streamed over his face. Kelly started laughing too.
With a muddy Harry and an ice cold Kelly, they got back to the log cabin to warm up again.
