Chapter 4

Jayd's POV

We have now crossed about four pack borders. Pretty funny actually, each time we passed the warrior wolves would tell the alpha but we are always long gone by the time they get there to take us away. We slow to a walk. I'm pretty sure this is neutral territory. "Hey Jayd, what should we do if we get caught?" Christina asks. "Lie our way through it." I laugh with her. I know what you're probably thinking. How can you lie? Won't the wolves be able to tell if you're lying? Yes, but we have been practicing to control our heart rate and convince ourselves that the lie we say is true. Sadly we have only tried it out on each other and it did work but we're not sure if it will work on anyone else. We wanted to learn this so if we ever had to lie to Daren or Drake we wouldn't get caught. Anyone caught lying to them gets the worst punishment possible. An old friend of ours, Jason, once lied to them, he was an omega like us at the time and he stole some food for Christina and I. Omega's never got enough food. He got caught and he was beaten so bad. Barely recognizable, they kicked him out, a merciful punishment. Others were slaughtered. I highly doubt he actually survived, I'm surprised he wasn't dead when they threw him out. "Hey Christina." I say shaking the memory of our friend Jason out of my head. "If we get caught we should change our names." I tell her. "Ya know so we won't get found as easily." And just as I say that three wolves jump out from the trees and tackle us growling. I get tackled by a chocolate brown wolf with yellow eyes, indicating that it's a warrior wolf. I see a black and gray wolf take down Christina. Also a warrior wolf. The third is jet black with gold eyes meaning it's the beta wolf. Great just great. Now we're screwed. "Hey dude can you like move your paw? It's, um, hurting my boob." I say as he looks down embarrassed and moves his paw. "Thanks." I say. Christina starts to laugh only to get growled at by the beta. I roll my eyes at him. Geez these guys are so on edge! Well then again we did cross their land. The beta walks behind a tree and shifts and comes back wearing some exercise shorts. He is actually pretty hot. He has spiked up windblown black hair. He has nice emerald green eyes and has some freckles. He also has a very nice six pack. He looks like he's about seventeen. I didn't know beta's started that young. In a regular werewolf pack the Alpha, Beta, and warrior wolves are all adults and once the kids become old enough, around middle school and high school, they too learn to become warriors. "Let them up." He says to the warrior wolves. The get off us and walk behind the trees and shift. Christina and I stand up. "Why have you come on our territory." The beta growls at us. "We're just passing through." Christina responds calmly. The other two come back also wearing exercise shorts. The one that tackled me has shaggy chocolate brown hair and cute blue eyes and dimples with a nice toned body, the other also has a toned body but has dirty blonde hair with some weird gray highlights. He also has brown eyes but they all look around seventeen and eighteen. "What are your names?" The dirty blonde asked. "My name is," I pause for a moment. What name could I use that would cover up my real name!? "How about Reign?" Okay yea. "Reign." I finish. Wait! Who the heck are you?! I ask inside my head. "Your wolf. My name is Xenia." Xenia says. "Cool name. Why haven't I talked to you before?" I ask her. "Because when they didn't let you shift it damaged me so I couldn't communicate with you. But since you ran away I have had a burst of energy and can talk to you. Just don't get your hopes up, I'm still very weak and can't function properly." Xenia says. "Okay..." I respond still weirded out that I have someone else who can hear my thoughts. "You'll get used to it." Xenia laughs. I roll my eyes and focus back on what's in front of me. "My name is Kris," Christina says "Spelt with a K." They nod. "So...Is there a reason we are still here or what?" I ask getting pretty bored just standing around. "Wow you're nice." Xenia chuckled in my head. "Shut up!" I say back. "My name is Leviticus, but call me Levi." The dirty blonde says. "I'm Alec." The brown haired one winks at me. "Perv." I mumble under my breath. Christina, I mean, Kris, laughs hearing me. "And I am the beta, Jay." The black haired one says coldly. "Well, I'm glad we had this nice little meet and greet but we need to keep moving." I ramble and start walking away but get cut off by Alec. "Yea not so fast. We need to bring you guys in for questioning." He smirks. "Ah man!" I whine. I sigh. "Take me to your leader." I joke. Kris laughs at my stupidity that just might get us killed. Oh well. Jay growls at us. Kris tones down her laughter and covers it with a cough. "Sorry." She mumbles. "Come with us the Alpha wants to personally question you." Jay says and turns to leave. We walk behind him with Alec and Levi on either side of us. "So where you from?" Alec asks and steps closer to me. "Sorry dude, but I don't do back stories." I say "Oh? Why's that?" he asks "Because I don't like people getting into my personal business." I respond sharply. "Woah, chill I just wanna be friends." he says. I laugh at him. "I highly doubt your Alpha will allow you to befriend a rogue." I roll my eyes. He shrugs "You never know." I roll my eyes. Wow, I've been rolling my eyes a lot today. We keep walking for a while longer until we go through some tough brush and come to a clearing where their huge pack house is. It isn't a lot bigger than our old pack house but still bigger. It has a classic brick wall look with a cute little deck and a balcony on the second floor. It's covered in green ivy. It looks nice even with the ivy growing on it. "You rouges go to the cells." Jay says with hatred and walks away, probably to see their Alpha. "Geez what's up his butt?" I ask Alec. "He's had a terrible past with rogues, actually all of us have, one way or another." Alec says leading us to the cells. "Oh. That sucks." is all I can say. We get put in the cells made of silver. "The Alpha will be down soon to question you." Levi says. "Great." I say sarcastically and lean against the back wall and relax. "Yea, also can we please get some food!" Kris says and grabs the silver bars. "Kris don't it's silver!" I say right as she touches it but nothing happens. "Wait, that is silver right?" I ask. "Yea..." Levi says confused. Well bud we're on the same page there. "So...Can we get food or what?" Kris says totally unaware of the whole situation. "Umm, be right back. Come on Alec." Levi says and leaves with Alec, obviously telling this to their Alpha. "Kris does that sting?" I ask her cautiously scooting closer to the bars. "No, why would it?" Kris asks. "Oh well ya know because it's freaking silver?!" I say. "It is?" Kris asks poking the bars. "No, it's not, it's bubble gum!" I respond sarcastically. Wow...Sometimes she can be real stupid. I reach out and touch it but nothing happens. I lean over to Kris, "Could this be because we might be Ultimate Wolves?" "I dunno, maybe. But I thought I wasn't one?" She says unsure "Well maybe you are." I shrug and make my way back to the corner. "I'm gonna get some shut eye, we were running for far too long." I tell Kris and shut my eyes. "Yea," Kris yawns, "Same here."
