Chapter 12

I ran upstairs and slammed my door shut. Dakota looked up worriedly. "Is everythi-" I cut her off. "MY PARENTS ARE DIVORCING!" I weeped as I fell into her arms.  "Oh my god.." She whispered. "I'm so sorry.." She cuddled into me. We stayed there for who knows how long. I ended up falling asleep after crying for about an hour, and when I woke, she was gone. I called her.
"Hello?" She said, her voice perfect as always.
"Babe?" I said softly.
"Oh hey, love! I went to pick you up some chips and ice cream. I should be home soon, everything okay?" She asked sounding worried.
"Yes. I need you though.." I said my voice cracking at the end.
"I'll be there soon, baby. Go watch some tv ok?"
"Okay.." I said before hanging up.
I just can't believe this.. I thought.
Dakota came home about ten minutes later armed with bags and bags of food. I ran to her and hugged her..tightly. "I love you.." I whispered. She smiled. "Please don't ever leave me.." I said while looking up into her eyes. "Don't worry, babygirl. I won't." She stuck out her pinky and hooked it into mine. I walked her to the bags of food and started digging through them. "OH MY GOD!" I yelled. "YOU GOT ME EVERY KIND OF GOLDFISH?!" I screamed. "Yeahhhh.." She said softly while smirking. "AHHH! I love you so much oh my lord." I said while opening a bag of nacho cheese goldfish. The next couple hours we pigged out on anything we could while watching reruns of Full House. I kept thinking about how luck I am that I get to spend my life with this girl. She's so beautiful, and smart. She knows just how to make me happy (Ex. The bags of food). She's always there when I need her.. She's just so perfect. I fell asleep again.. when I woke up, she was still there.

I was starting to get used to the idea of my parents splitting up. My mom moved out, got her own place. Things weren't as hectic anymore. Dakota basically lives with me. Graduation is coming up in a couple months, soon I'll be an adult! Me and Dakota have been looking for cheap apartments, and I've been juggling a second job, trying to make money to pay for it. Things are just going pretty well. Things between me and Dakota are going way better than before, and were as close then ever. "Babygirllllllllll" Dakota whined. I turned over to look at her. "It's 3am!!" She yelled. "Why are you still awake?" "I can't sleep." I replied while cuddling into her. "How come?" She yawned. "I can't stop thinking about you.." I blushed. Good thing she can't see me. I thought to myself. I felt her smile. "I'm sorry I woke you, my love." I kissed the tip of her nose. She yawned again and fell back asleep. I ended up falling asleep around 5:30am.

"Bahahahah!" I laughed as Dakota tickled me. BAM. I fell off the bed. "OH MY GOD ARE YOU OKAY?!" Dakota screamed as she jumped off the dw to check on me. "Owww" I said as I laughed. "I'll be fine.." I said. She helped me up an we walked into the kitchen to get some ice. I put the ice pack on the back of my head and smiled. "It's like me to get hurt while having fun, huh?" I chuckled. "Yeah, only you." She laughed. I opened the fridge to look for some food. We were completely out. "Babe.." I said. "I know I know, shopping, food, I know. I'll go in a minute." She said lazily. "I'll go with." I said back. I ran upstairs and put on some pants and a hoodie and went back downstairs where she was standing at the door with the keys. "Ready?" She asked. I shook my head yes and she opened the door for me. The whole ride to the store was us blaring Twenty One Pilots in her car. We stopped, and got out. I raced her to the door and grabbed a cart. "Fruit loops." I said sternly. "What?" She asked. "I have a sudden craving for fruit loops." I said as we started walking towards the cereal isle. I was grabbing a box of fruit loops when I saw him.
Damien.
Looking at me.
I haven't talked to him since that day.
"You look well, Alex." He said to me.
"Go fuck yourself." I said and I started walking away but he grabbed my arm. "I'm sorry.." He said. "I feel terrible." "As you should." I said Ridley before walking away. I ran into Dakota in the cracker isle. "Can we pay and go please?" I begged. "Why, what's wrong?" She asked. "I ran into Damien." I said. A look of understanding flooded over her face. "Okay." She said and we payed an left.

GUYS! I get to meet my friend tomorrow and omg am I excited. I'm gonna be so flustered around her though because she's like perfection *sighs* SO HAPPY!((: <3
