(afterschool)
YUKI: (waiting at the entrance) [where is she?]
YUKI: (disappointingly) she's not coming (begins to walk away)
MIZUKI: WAIT!
YUKI: (stops and turns)
MIZUKI: (running to him) Wait up Yuki! (catches up) wait.(out of breath)
YUKI: [She actually came, I can't believe it. Does she really want to be my friend?]
MIZUKI: (angrily) Did you forget that we were going to walk home together.
YUKI: (extremely apologetic) Oh, i'm so sorry! (bows)
MIZUKI: (surprised) Ah! Theres no need to apologize Yuki, I was just joking. I didn't mean it.
YUKI: Oh.
MIZUKI: Come on, lets get to the train station.
YUKI: Ok
(train station)
MIZUKI: So did you like your first day here Yuki?
YUKI: This school is pretty good, plus I got to spend the day with you.
MIZUKI: (blushes) Well i'm glad you liked it.
YUKI: I think I won't mind living in this town.
MIZUKI: Yuki, the trains here.
(both walk in and take a seat next to each other)
YUKI: Hey Mizuki?
MIZUKI: Yes Yuki.
YUKI: This whole day we've been talking about me but not once did we talk about you. If we're going to be friends I want to know more about you, so I think it's about time you tell me about yourself.
MIZUKI: Ok, lets see where to start. (thinking) hmm. I don't really know what to tell you.
YUKI: How about you tell me what you like.
MIZUKI: Hmm... I know! (pulls out phone with strap and a turtle on it) This is one of my favorite things in the world.
YUKI: (looks at the phone) Turtles?
MIZUKI: Yep.
YUKI: [What's so great about a wrinkly old slow turtle.] Why do you like them so much?
MIZUKI: I love them so much because a turtle was my first friend. (Flashback) When I was in elmentary, I got picked on for being really clumsy and a bit on the dumb side so I didn't have many friends. My parents would always take me to a pond when I was little and thats where I met the turtle. I was asleep on a tree and this giant turtle decided to walk on my lap to sleep, man was he heavy! I started to talk to him as if he were a person and he became my very first friend. Whenever I would come to the pond I would bring something for him to eat and I'd walk with him and talk to him but then one day I couldn't find him. I still don't know what happened to him.
YUKI: (silent)
MIZUKI: Honestly, I hope the reason why he didn't come that day was because he died.
YUKI: (surprised) Why!
MIZUKI: Well it would be really be disappointing if he just didn't want to see me anymore, I mean a turtle standing you up is a little pathetic.
YUKI: I'm sorry for asking you something so sad.
MIZUKI: It's okay
YUKI: Really?
MIZUKI: Yeah, beacause I made it all up just now.
YUKI: [WHAAAAAAT!] What do you mean you just made it up!
MIZUKI: Yep, all made up. (enthusiasticaly) Pretty good huh? I should go into acting.
YUKI: (does a facepalm) So whats the real reason why you like turtles?
MIZUKI: I don't know, I just do.
YUKI: [She could have just said that in the beginning.] (turns) oh look, were here. (train makes stop)
MIZUKI: Lets go porn prince.
YUKI: So you're still using that.
(both walk out of train and now heading home)
YUKI: It's getting kinda late huh?
MIZUKI: Yeah.
YUKI: Hey Mizuki.
MIZUKI: Yes, what is it Yuki?
YUKI: Umm... (looks up) Why do you want to be my friend?
MIZUKI: (stops walking)
YUKI: (stops right after)
MIZUKI: (looks at Yuki) Well because I think you're really cool of course.
YUKI: But i'm not cool at all, i'm just average. (looks down)
MIZUKI: Thats not true. you're really nice and you listen to what I have to say. No one ever listens to what I have to say. They just think i'm a pretty face but you actually listen.
YUKI: Oh. [So she really wants to be my friend.]
MIZUKI: And another thing Yuki, you have to stop putting yourself down like that! It's not healthy and your not going to be able to make any more friends like that, ok.
YUKI: (smiles) OK, I'll make sure to that.
MIZUKI: Good.
(they arive at the park)
MIZUKI: Well here we are. My house is on the right.
YUKI: My house is right there. (points at his house on top of a store)
MIZUKI: And there's your parents porn shop on the bottom. (giggles)
YUKI: Very funny. And there are the turtles I was talking about.
MIZUKI: Should we name them?
YUKI: Ok, That one is going to be Kameko.
MIZUKI: I'm gonna name this one Kimi .
YUKI: Kameko and Kimi. That goes together really well don't you think?
MIZUKI: (happily) Yep.
YUKI'S MOTHER: Who is this Yuki?
YUKI: Oh, mom! This is my friend Mizuki.
YUKI'S MOTHER: Are you going to trick her to coming into your room and do naughty things to her. (smiles)
MIZUKI: No way, you actually do that!I was just kidding when we were talking but you actually do that. You must really be a pervert.
YUKI: No i'm not, she's just kidding. (turns to his mother) MOM! Why are you trying to scare off my friend like that! It's not cool!
YUKI'S MOTHER: Oh i'm just kidding son. Come in to eat dinner soon, ok.
YUKI: OK. (turns back to Mizuki) Well I have to go so I'll see you tomorrow.
YUKI'S MOTHER: Well it was nice meeting you Mizuki. I hope we can see you again sometime.
MIZUKI: Thank you, umm?
YUKI'S MOTHER: You can call me Momoko.
MIZUKI: Thank you. Well bye everyone. (walks away)
YUKI: (waving goodbye) Bye Mizuki, see you tomorrow.
MOMOKO: So are you going to eat dinner first or play with yourself for a while
YUKI: (shamed) Please don't joke like that mom.
MOMOKO: (laughs uncontrollably)
(Yuki laying on his bed at night)
YUKI: [Man am I tired. This sure was some first day. That Mizuki sure is something.] (turns his head to the window)
YUKI: This is going to be a long year.
