Crying echoed through the household and Flash chuckled. "Someone is hungry."
Twilight grinned. "She's always hungry! Or at least, she always wants something." She tucked her hair back behind her ear and kissed Flash on the cheek. "I'll be right back." She hurried upstairs towards her crying child.
Flash opened the cupboards, hunting through them for a snack, his ears banging from the noise. The both of them always had a headache nowadays, but they knew it was only a phase, their child would stop crying constantly eventually. She was only a few months old, but already resembled her mother in her eyes. Nova Star Sparkle had been quiet at first, she wouldn't stop smiling, but eventually, the crying started. She always needed something, which Twilight and Flash didn't mind. It was part of being parents. Flash pulled out a biscuit and stood nibbling on it until he heard footsteps and he shut the cupboard to see Twilight return with a baby in her arms. "See, much better!" She chuckled, looking down towards the now satisfied baby who was giggling and grabbing at Twilight's cheek.
Flash began to stroll towards them smiling, nudging the counter as he walked past, almost causing a necklace to fall onto the floor.
"Careful!" Twilight called out, using her one spare hand to push the necklace further back so it was in less danger. "That was the necklace Princess Celestia gave us. We have to keep it protected. It can rewind time to a point in our lives just once. We need to keep it safe just in case something terrible happens and we need to use it." She stared down at the necklace, it was designed like her cutie mark, but with a round jewel in the middle.
"Do you even know how to use it?" Flash quizzed, his eyebrow raised.
Twilight shook her head. "No... But if we need to use it, we can figure it out."
A sudden knocking at the door, startled both parents and caused the child to begin crying again.
"Expecting someone?" Flash folded his arms, looking towards the door, and back at Twilight who shook her head.
"I'll get it." He added, leaving Twilight with the baby who was slowly beginning to calm down once again as Twilight comforted her, rocking her gently.
Flash pulled open the door to see a delivery woman, a large smile was on her face and she held out a parcel. "Flash Sentry and Twilight Sparkle?"
"Yes..." He paused. "We haven't ordered anything?"
The woman shrugged. "It's for you. Maybe a gift from someone?" She suggested, her eyebrow raised as she picked up on the crying in the background. "New parents?" She smiled, but there was something behind her smile that didn't seem as friendly as it should have been.
Flash nodded. "Few months..."
"It'll get easier." The woman reassured him, handing over the parcel, revealing her painted black nails, little red horns painted onto them. Her black hair was then revealed as it fell down, almost to her waist, it was wavy with a few perfect curls. She began playing with the small necklace around her neck, a small dagger pendant. She smiled once again, before waving. "Good luck. I'm sure you'll be fine." She gave Flash one last look, holding the eye contact a little too long, her red eyes staining the back of his mind. "Goodbye."
She turned, and walked leaving Flash on the doorstep for a few seconds before he too, turned away, closing the door.
"Who was it?" Twilight called from the living the room, the baby once again silent.
"We have a delivery."  He answered back. "Are you sure you haven't ordered anything recently?"
"Positive..." She watched as Flash approached her and placed the small box down. Tugging at the ends of the box, it came open, and he peered inside.
"What is it?" Twilight quizzed, intrigued.
Flash looked up towards Twilight. "It's... It's a necklace." He held it up to present to Twilight. The necklace had a silver chain, with a small dagger like pendent attached to it. The dagger had the words 'Nova Star' carved onto it. He frowned. "I've seen this before... The delivery woman had one of these too."
Twilight hurried over to the box, and gestured towards the bottom. "There's a piece of paper, does it say who this is from?"
Flash picked up the note which was folded. The front read: Family business. He opened it and read it aloud. "For our darling Nova. Soon you will see the truth. Soon you will join your real family."
Twilight's eyes widened. "What is this? Some kind of sick joke? Or a threat? Or-"
"Twilight..." Flash whispered. "It's okay. No one is going to get to us. No one will hurt you or Nova. I'll make sure of it..."

A/N - I'm getting so excited for this story, you have no idea! I have some awesome ideas. I just wonder what y'all are going to think of it. If you hadn't gathered from my change in profile theme, I'm really into darker storylines at the moment. I'm not going to make this as dark as it could be... I still want it to be a nice story, it's not going to be horrribly dark, just a few moments of darkness, and the ending... Wellll.... If you don't like the ending just pretend it never happened and that this sequel never existed. XD
I apologise in advance. My final warning. XD
