Chapter 12 - On You're Own

Colton POV

Erik and I traveled back to the society but shortly after, he left again.

No surprise there. None. Nein. Zilch. Zero. None. I knew he was going to try to save Molly, but I know deep down she is against us. I hope she realizes the Erik has changed from what he was back then.

I'm still looking for Vienna but I just no those rebels are up to something. I just got done with a council meeting and sure enough Jonas called another one but with just me and fourth in command.

"Erik and Molly have been captured this morning, by the Amoris. Some survived the attack years ago, and they threaten to strike us again. This time, Erik is on their side, brainwashed. He will be home in two weeks with Molly to try to bring us down. The only way we get him back is if he remembers us.. He needs to remember. Or else there will be a war, and I don't know if we can win."

Jonas looked heart broken, there was something else that he's not adding and I intend to find out.

After the meeting I jog to catch up but it seems he doesn't want to talk.

"JONAS WAIT DAMN IT WAIT"
I screamed at him, but he kept walking as if he didn't hear me.

I ran up to him and pulled him to the wall.

"What the hell is wrong with you, what happened?" I asked.

He looked at me and for the second time, I saw him cry. The first is when He shot Iris by accident but that was years ago. He then started to mumble but got louder.

"Iris.. She wants to fight.. If it comes to that. She said she needs to, that there's no question about it. I tried to persuade her that isn't the best decision, but she's set on helping Molly..."

He looked at me and wiped the last tear away and straightened his back and started walking to his room.

"I'm going to spend time with Iris, and try to get her to stay here.. But you know she's so damn stubborn."

And he walked away without another word.
I can't focus on this right now, I have to find Vienna, whether he likes it or not, I'm leaving.

So later that night I got into my car and headed for the place I know she would be.
