*Louis' POV*

As I leave my parents house, my mom sends me off with a batch of cookies and gives me a hug, "everything will be alright sweetie," she whispers to me. My mom has always been my best friend, she has been there for me while my other friends haven't. We chat for a bit, but then I decide I should leave because it's already 7 and it's getting dark. I give her one last hug, then head out to my car.

I plug in my phone, turn on my Pandora, and roll my window down a bit just so my cigarette can fit through. Another thing my mom doesn't know about, I started right after I lost my job a few months ago, which Harry doesn't even know about when he's the reason why I got fired. At this point, I feel like cigarettes are my gateway to this stress. From losing the best job I have ever had as an entertainment writer at an online newspaper, to my dad cheating on my mom rumors, to me and Harry splitting.

When I realize that I am halfway to Liam's place, I call him.

"Hey, you almost here?" he says as he picks up the phone.

"Yeah, about 30 more miles, do you want me to pick up dinner, or did you already eat."

"We can just order, I don't want to put you through the trouble when you're already tired I would imagine."

Liam has always understood me, growing up it was hard to fit in when you're gay, especially when you find out your sexuality at such a young age, kids are usually afraid of you, but Liam is friends with almost everyone.

"Are you okay with that," he asks, that's when I realized I dosed off because it starts to storm and I have to be cautious and try to maintain calm.

"Yeah of course, thank you," I hang up and just sit in silence to stay concentrated.

As I got to Liam's, he greeted me with a hug, then looked at me with disgust. "Why do you smell like cigarettes," he asked.

I sat down with him and explained everything that has happened, from losing my job to losing Harry. Harry has been good and bad in my life lately, but he has driven me to extreme stress and depression.

"So did you find those pictures of him with those girls through work?" Liam asked.

"Yeah, I don't think Harry realizes that I have connections with the media."

After we ate, Liam blurted out, "so since we're basically just going to be sitting here all night eating unhealthy food and watching horribly rated movies on Netflix, how about I drive you around for a bit?"

Immediately, I got a huge smile on my face. Ever since high school, Liam has taken me for car rides whenever I was down, I couldn't say no.
