*Louis' POV*

Me and my mom sat in the living room for a while, staring at the ground. Now that my dad is gone, I wish that I would've had a stronger relationship with him. "Mom," I blurted out, "did dad hate me because I was gay?"

She didn't look at me, I knew something wasn't alright. "You're dad just never pictured his only son being like this, he wished to have a bond with you."

"But why did he always avoid me, it's not like-", my phone started to buzz in my pocket, it was Harry.

I excused myself and went to my room.

"Hi," I said nervously. My head started to spin, why would he be calling me?

"I feels so great to hear your voice again, how have you been?"

How have I been? That's the stupidest thing I've heard all day. "Things could be better, but they're not."

"I'm sorry, just know that I am here if you need anything. Where are you staying?"

I knew that when I say that I've been at Liam's he wouldn't be very happy, he's always thought me and Liam had a thing. "I have been at Liam's, but something came up at my parent's house so I'm here now."

"I'm just happy you're safe." There was a dead silence for a while. "Is everything alright?"

"Actually no." My heart started to race, tears came falling down my face. "My dad was found dead this morning, they think he might've had a heart attack."

"I'm so sorry to hear that, I'm just a phone call away if you need anything."

I hung up, I didn't know whether to believe him anymore when he said that he's here for me.

About 20 minutes later, Liam called.

"Hey, you'll never believe what happened," I said, indicating toward Harry calling me.

"I know, Harry called you."

"How did you know?"

"Because he called me right after he got off the phone with you apparently."

Anger ran through my veins, "Well what did he want, did he say anything bad about me?"

"No," he paused for awhile before talking again, "but I think you need to talk to him and let him explain what happened."

"Why do you say that?"

"Just do it please," he hung up. I thought for a minute, then realized he was right.

I walked back out to the living room. "Hey mom," I sat next to her and wrapped my arm around her, "I'm going to go back home to Harry's. I need to know the whole story before I lose him forever."

"Sweetie, it's fine. Please just drive safe."

"I will, please call me if you need anything. I will be back in a few days so we can plan the funeral, okay?" I kissed her goodbye and gathered my things that were sitting on the dining table.

As I head out to my car, I felt as if someone was looking at me over my shoulder. When I got into my car and turned on the radio, Hey Jude by the Beatles came on. It was my dad's favorite song, he used to sing it around the house all the time. Was this a sign? Was I doing the right thing by letting Harry explain himself once and for all?
