Let the 21 questions begin

Delani's POV

Zayden freaking Hayes is my mate? What did I ever do to deserve this? I was never mean to anyone, always did what my parents told me to do, got good grades, and this is how I'm repaid? By having him as my mate? I don't even think I would be that mad if he rejected me.

I mean come on, who does he think he is? I am the future Alpha here. What are my parents going to think? Should I even tell them? What about when the pack finds out? Oh man, I'll be the laughing stock of the century. I don't want that to happen.

Maybe I could just tell them he wasn't here tonight, that I haven't found him. In the long run it might not be the best thing, but for now it's all I can do.

My dad would be furious if I told him, and as much as I don't really like Zayden (complete lie. I already love him) I wouldn't want him to suffer the Alphas wrath.

I honestly don't blame him for saying we can't be together. I know my parents aren't too fond of him. Although I don't know much about him, my parents know his history. The perks of being the Alphas.

After talking to Zayden all I really want to do is go to bed. My head is pounding and I just want to sleep. Maybe I can just sneak up there without Grey noticing.

Almost to the last step, yes I made I- "Hey Delani I was just looking for you. What did that loser want with you?" Maybe I should just keep walking up the stairs and act like I didn't hear him. Yeah that's what I'll do, just two more stairs and then 10 feet and I'll be to my room.

As soon as I step on the top step, a hand grabs my arm, "Del, are you ignoring me?" Dangggg. So close.

"I um no, no I wasn't ignoring you. I didn't hear you? Have uh have you been there the whole time?" Smooth move Delani.

"Yeah I asked you what Hayes wanted with you. But you just kept going, so what did he want?" I have to come up with a lie and quick. I can't tell him what he really wanted. So what do I tell him?

"Oh yeah, he just wanted to know if I found my mate. That's all he wanted. If you don't mind, I'm really tired. I'd love to just get some sleep. I don't mean to be rude. But I've had a really long day." I can already tell by the look in his eyes that he's not giving up so easily. Why do guys have to be so pushy.

"Are you sure that's all he wanted? He must have wanted something else. We were having a nice talk and now you want to go to sleep? Did he hurt you or something? I wouldn't put it past someone like him."

"NO! He did not hurt me! Now if you'll excuse, I'm going to sleep, night Grey. I'll see you around." I don't even give him time to reply, him insulting my mate made me become defensive. And I don't even like the guy. I guess my wolf is protective of him though.

As soon as a get to my room I kick off my shoes and strip out of the dress. Today was too long and all I want is sleep.

Not even bothering with sleep clothes or taking off my make up, I climb into bed. As soon as my head hits the pillow, I'm out like a light.

The weekend passed in a blur. I'm pretty sure I ate my body weight in ice cream, and then cried it all out. It was like as soon as I got done crying I would think I'm okay, then bam I just start again. I hate feeling that weak. That's why I didn't talk to anybody Saturday or Sunday. I think my Dad knew something was up though.

It's already Monday and it's time for another school day. I know people are going to want to know if their future Alpha found her mate, and I'm going to be okay telling no. At least I don't have to tell them the real reason.
