Point of View: Jade

"Jade!" My brother yelled down the hallway "Get up and get in here! Don't make me come in there!" he jokingly threatened.

"I'm coming relax!" I shouted from under my warm blankets, I didn't want to get out of bed it was seven thirty in the morning!

Eventually I did stomping my way through the hallway, I was not ready to cook so early but I liked knowing my big brother wanted my attention, even if it was just to obtain cooking skills.

"Good morning sunshine, time to cook!" he blurted excitingly as he grabbed supplies from the fridge "so we got milk, cheese, eggs, butter, vegetables and... yup that what we need.." he circled around holding numerous items lightly kicking the fridge door shut behind him "MEAT!" he shouted as he held up a tubed package of sausage to show me.

"But why so early?" I complained stumbling to the kitchen island, climbing onto a tall wooden chair. I poured myself a small glass of Orange Juice as I watched him grab two wooden cutting boards and a pair of our sharpest knives, he slid a set in front of me pushing my juice aside.

Vlad told me how to prep the vegetables he needed "Breakfast is meant for mornings, when you grow up and have a job you will need to wake up early and have a good breakfast so you don't wind up starving your first few hours of your job."

He went on as I yawned deciding their is no way out of this I just have to listen and follow his directions hopefully without screwing it up this time "It's great practice you'll thank me later trust me, now cut!" he assured me setting a large bowl filled with a variety of cooking peppers in between us and got started.

Once that was about done he grabbed a medium size frying pan out of the cupboard turning the burner on the stove to medium-high "first we brown the meat." he said as he cut open the package of sausage, he sprayed the pan and broke apart the meat placing it in the pan with a lid to let it sizzle.

"Now crack some eggs in a big bowl and pour a third cup of milk before you beat them." Vlad said handing me a mixing bowl. He grabbed a cheese grater from the drawer and began to prep the cheese.

He was dedicated on teaching me how to make an omelette without burning it, they were his favorite thing to eat and he felt it was something me his baby sister needed to know.

After we made our omelettes his looking much better then mine, we set out plates and called for Dad and Lily to come join us to eat.

Lily is Vlad's girlfriend she is an unusual character but my brother is crazy about her and just a few months ago they had their first child, Zena. They had many problems in their relationship but my brother tried his best to make it work.

But she's a promiscuous young woman who has a hard time with loyalty not to mention a nasty habit of using drugs, A few times the drugs got the best of her putting her in the hospital, but she would jump right back into it even though Vlad hated the idea of losing her she would disregard his opinion.

This is just an glimpse of Vlad's hobbies and a small introduction on his family and relationship.
