Prologue:Part One|Those Eyes

Alex's POV

*Present*

Have you ever had on of those moments where you follow someone's lead, because you know that they're different?

I have.

We were running as fast as we could in the busy crowd of the subway. He had his hand in mine, and I felt a blush slowly creep onto my face. As we raced away from the FBI, they slowly lost us. We slowed and pulled up our hoodies, good thing I always wear one! As we came to a train stop area, a girl with the name of Rebecca Harris pulled a gun on us. FBI. Shit. "Hands Up"

"Girl doesn't know what we're capable." He whispered with his warm breath tickling my ear. I nodded my head, we had to work as a team. He jumped off the platform as we heard a train come. If you're positive that the driver can see you, would you go 100%? Maybe 90%? 80%?

*2 Days ago*

Alexis Kiuria's the name, and being a nobody's my game. I've been forgotten for years, and the only people that remember me is my family. I love them, but... I can't keep play my safe card with them. What if they find out that I don't really dance, and dont make money? I can't handle thought.

   Life hasn't been good to me. My mother has come down with something that the doctors can't even figure out what. I'm sick of it! I going home, and helping with the family, but I don't know how to. I can nearly take care of myself, so how am I going to take care of my family? I don't know.

   *1 hour later*

  "-and it should take about two weeks. I'll leave you now." As the man left I slowly flipped through the pages of employes, when my eyes got so heavy that I couldn't stand it anymore. I drifted off to sleep with good memories of my best friend, Eli.

    "Alex. Alex! ALEX!" A man's voice rang my ears, and I shot my head up. I gave him a look-over, and he felt familiar. "ELI! IS THAT REALLY YOU?" I screamed in pure joy. 

"Yup! It's me. Some of the guys told me that some hot girl was taking a nap up here! I didn't think that ya changed a lot over a year!

"I guess I have."

"Hey, Alex, do ya want to get lunch with me?"

"Of course, Ei!" 

"STAWP."

"Nopity!"

*After Lunch* 

I gave the pill a glance, and smiled until my mouth went numb. What did I have to lose? I plunked the pill in to my mouth. I walked back into the bank, and sat at my 'desk'. Then, it happened. My pupils dialed into dots, my mind felt like it was exspanding, I felt smarter. I looked at a file on someone that looked familiar, but I couldn't place it. 

"You know damn right who that is, Alexis." A another me stood right in front of me. "You remember a lot more than you think you do." I looked through the file.

"Rena Opsien."

"You got it."

*2 hours later*

2 weeks. He said 2 weeks. I guess I got carried away, cuz it took me 2 hours.

"Now, I colour correlated from green, safest, to red, worst..."

"Wow... Impressive."

"And break up with Ruby. You deserve better."

"Well, I did reject the proposal. But, we've been together so long."

"You'll be fine! And you're about to get a promotion. You're taking credit for this project, so vise-president then NAB."

*Next Day cuz ima lazy*

'Run, Alex! Run.' I thought. I need one of those pills, and fast. If I'm going to help my mother, I need to find someone give a lung. I know that Alex isn't ready to hassle that, not alone. I ran up to Eli's apartment, and swung the door open. I heard the crash of Eli guitar, and someone ripping open a package. "Why are there two?"

"One's probs for me." I answered.

"Who the hell are you?!?!?" A boy about 28 had a panicked look on his face, yelling at me.

"Heh. You must be Brian Finch. Alexis Kiuria, but I like Alex."

"Well, Alex, it's nice to meet you, but I have to get-"

"NZT? Same... I'm... Here for the pills to save my mother. She has a lung problem."

"I understand. My father needs a new liver."

I gave a smile as someone crashed the door open. Brian pulled me into another room, cupping his hand over my mouth which made me blush, and he gave me an extra pill. I glupped it down, and ran to the fire ladder thing after Brian swiftly grabbed Eli's phone. I tripped, and grabbed the railing, making a loud rattle. Brian did the same. A man poked his head out of Eli's window, and looked very pissed. "Hey! Get back here."

"Stay together?"

"Yeah." I jumped over the railing, and grabbed on to the next one down instead of falling to death. I could feel every fiber of mussel working to keep me from falling. I let go, and grabbed on to the railing under that. Then, I fell on top of a bunch of trash bags and after a few seconds, I felt heavy amount of wight. I glanced at the figure, to see that Brian was on top of me, and I blushed like crazy. Brian got up as if nothing happened, and picked me up. I had no idea why, until I looked at my foot. It had swollen up badley. "Put me down! Please."

"Alex. Look at your ankle."

"I know, but I have an idea!"

"Fine." Brian put me down, and I use the affect of NZT to get rid of the pain. Brian starred at me with awe as we ran to the ladder leading to the doorway to the outside world. I slid down the ladder and ran to the streets, holding Finch's hand. 

*Present* 

Brian took a step froward into 90%, and so did I. "Daredevil much?" 

"Nope. But that's what makes this so much better."

"Of course." The train came to dead stop 1 centimeter away from us , and Brian crawled under it as soon as possible. I did the same, and ended up walking down the abandoned railway. I ended up holding his hand, and he didn't object. One thing keep swimming in my mind.
