18 weeks. 18 motherfucking depressing weeks. I couldn't believe that Brian was coping without me. I'm not sure I have a very important reason to go back to him, yet. I guess I just miss his company. His warmth in the bed we were forced to share because the FBI 'couldn't afford another bed.' Damn sure.

"If February is supposed to be this cold, I'm going to leave NY and go to Florida. I mean, we're close. We could steal a car and-" I cut Marvin off.

"Ya know what? Just shut up."

His lips turned into a smirk. "That boy-"

"Man. His name is Brian, Marvin."

His eyes widen, but the smirk stayed. "You never call me by my real name, Alex. This...Brandon guy is really messing with your head, ya know? Your..."

"Softer." I finished. "It's Brian, Marvin."

"'Kay... Moonlight Shadow."

I whipped around, and slapped him. He grimaced in pain, retreating backward. I never hit anyone that hard. A smile crept onto my lips, but quickly retreated.

Then I ran.

I was always the person to stay and fight, the person that would do no less than win a fight against any opponent. Anyone who knew me, and saw me run away like that would surely be concerned.

A sleek, black Sudan pulled up beside after I had stopped before a hotel. The window slides down a little, and the image of Sands appeared. I looked behind him to spot Brian, franticness in his eyes. "Sands—", He began.

"It's fine, Brian. She's a business partner of mine. Midnight, meet Brian Finch." Sands looked at me with pleading eyes, and I deepened my voice.

"Oh, the famous Brian Finch. I was told a lot about you. Mind if I drop in for a few minutes? It wont take long, I promise."

Before Brian could protest, Sands unlocked the back door and I was climbing in. "Thanks, Jared."

"No problem, Dacey."

<{Brian's POV}>

A woman, about 30, climbed into the back of Sands' Sudan. I was finally able to get a good look at her; long, black hair that reached her thigh, a purple highlight inserted at the right side. She had a black leather jacket, a gray ACDC tee-shirt, black skinny jeans, black combat boots, black gloves, and a locket. She looked to be 5' 9", and had this dark, yet soft, look in her eyes. Like she had done something she regretted horribly. I continued to study her even more as we drove away into the night.

There were features about her that made me feel... Distressed. Her compelling gaze. Even though looking through the window, I could see longing, sadness, anger, stress. Her saddened expression. The dark circles under her eyes. Her... Just her presence tells of a fighter, a warrior who went through things that no one should go through. It was something tearing me down, nagging at my thoughts. I felt like I needed to hold her, to keep her safe and hidden.

And only one person made me feel like that.
