I woke up in the nurse's office with a headache. I could just barely remember what had happened. I looked up and I saw the nurse, the counselor, and Kayla looking down on me.

"So what in all happened?" I pondered.

Ms. Evans answered, "You got in a fight with Daniel Portoff. You broke his nose, so he choked you until you passed out."

Jeez, this nurse tells it as it is. Kayla looked so shocked and confused.

"Paul....why would you do that?" Kayla looked concerned.

"Paul, do you feel good enough to come in my office and talk to me about it?" the counselor (Mrs. Williams) asked.

"Umm.. okay" I said

"Kayla, you can go back to class now." the nurse (Ms. Evans) told Kayla.

Mrs. Williams walked Kayla back to class, and then she came back for me. We walked down the long, wide high school hallway. We entered her office. It had a big desk with a framed picture of her two kids, her husband and their dog on top of it. There were two chairs in there: one for a student, and one for her.

"Have a seat, Paul."

I sat down.

"Can you tell me why you got into a fight with Daniel?"

I had a blank expression on my face.

"It's okay Paul. Trust me, what happens in my office, stays in my office. I won't tell anyone."

"Okay." I mumbled.

I told her everything. About how I had overheard them talking and the rude things they were saying and how I have had feelings for Kayla since the sixth grade. Mrs. Williams told me that I should let Kayla know that Danny isn't a good guy and that I don't want her to get hurt. She also thinks that I should tell Kayla how I really felt....

 Maybe I will.
