I was really shocked to find out that my best friend and my crush got in a fight. Throughout my entire geometry class, I didn't really pay any attention to anything  Mr. Cowell was teaching because I was thinking about all of the reasons why they could've gotten in a fight. I was so anxious to get out of that class to go talk to Paul about what happened. The class seemed to drone on and on, but after a while, it FINALLY came to an end. After the bell rang, I quickly grabbed my books and darted out the door. For passing period, we get five minutes, so Paul and I meet by the front doors during passing period. I waited for about thirty seconds, then I saw Paul walking towards me.

"Kayla, I really need to talk to you outside. It's a lot quieter out there."

"Okay."

I followed Paul out the front door. There was a cool, gentle autumn breeze. The trees surrounding us were absolutely beautiful. They were different hues of brown, red, yellow, and orange.

"So what happened with you and Danny?"

"That's what I need to talk to you about. There's something that I really need to tell you." Paul stated some what nervously.

"Yes?"

"Well... I heard Danny having a conversation with his friends.... and they're really not nice people..."

"Well what were they saying?" I asked.

"So that's the thing.... they were talking bad about you.... and I just don't want to see you get hurt." he stammered.

I couldn't believe it.

"What...what... were they saying?" I asked through tears.

"I don't think I should tell you... It's probably better off if you don't know.."

I felt like I had gotten punched in the stomach. This was the biggest crush I've ever had. I was devastated. The second Paul saw me crying, he hugged me so tightly. Paul had a perfect attendance record, but he knew I was really upset, so he skipped the rest of school with me. We walked to Subway to get sandwiches and we decided to have a picnic.

"Where should we picnic?" Paul asked with a crooked smile.

"How about that one grassy field with that really good view of the mountains?" I suggested.

Somehow even though my suggestion wasn't that specific, he seemed to know exactly what I was talking about. Since Paul is constantly cold, for some reason he had a blanket in his backpack to picnic on. We walked to this huge grass filled field that had a perfect view of the mountains. It was a little bit chilly, so we ended up just sitting in the grass and used the blanket to cover up. We ate our sandwiches and sat there looking at the mountains. I had almost instantly forgotten about Danny at the moment. After silence, Paul turned to me and said,

"Kay, there's something you need to know."

The seriousness in his voice was kind of concerning.

"What is it?" I asked worriedly.

"This is really hard and nerve wracking, but the first time I saw you, I fell in love with you. And I still am."

At that moment, I was overwhelmed with butterflies, and I had so many different emotions. I blushed so much.

"You're beautiful." Paul said in a dead sexy tone.

We gazed into each other's eyes... and then we kissed. His lips were so soft against mine. That kiss turned into making out. Now all of a sudden, I have all of these feelings for Paul that I've never felt before.
