Alec yawned tiredly as he once again sat in the school library reading a book. Not just any book, one about werewolves. He had read almost every book there was. Ever since he had become a beast he had been trying to find a way to cure himself. Even though Giles had point blank told him that it was impossible to break the curse, Alec wouldn't give up. He had to try something to fix it. Some way to get his life back. Alec hated reading. That's how determined he was to find a cure. That's all he's ever wanted and maybe if he believed hard enough then one day it would come true.

Alec looked up when a familiar blonde entered the library and he quickly shut his book, hiding it from her view. He didn't have the energy to make up a lie as to why he was reading that particular book.

"Hey, how's it going?" Buffy said, cheerfully and sat down in between him and Giles.

"Uh, alright." Giles said. Alec looked at her suspiciously. Her heart rate was going at a higher speed. She probably wanted something.

"That's great! I see we're still working on that Anointed One problem, that'll probably take a few days, right? I mean, that's one obscure prophecy..." She said, hopefully.

"Well, yes, there are a few interruptions..."

"So, tonight's looking slow, right? Probably best to relax and regroup, no big disasters coming, that is so good. I will see you tomorrow then! Bye!"

Alec watched her as she practically sprinted out of the library. He and Giles shared a look. "Is it just me or was she acting extra weird today?"

"She did act rather peculiar, didn't she?"

Alec shrugged his shoulders and opened his book back up to the page he left on. He felt someone staring at him and looked up to find Giles giving him a look. "What?"

"I don't know what you expect to find in that book that you haven't already read."

Alec sighed running his finger along the dusty, old pages of the book. "I'm trying to find the thing I want." Alec was glad when Giles didn't persist in asking him any questions after that because he didn't know if he could handle them without snapping. Stupid werewolf temper.

Hours later Alec found himself standing in front of a wooden door with a grin stretched upon his face. "Oh, she is so going to kill you."

Giles ignored his nephew and leaned forward knocking on the door. The door opened quickly and eagerly. "We need to talk."

Buffy stood there with a smile on her face but immediately dropped when she saw who was standing there. "Buffy's not home." She tried to close the door but Giles pushed it open. Alec walked inside and snickered when he saw the glare she was aiming at Giles.
