I remember that it killed me, the way the rain touched on my skin as if it was acid falling out of the sky awaiting to land on a single piece of my skin just sitting there, trying to seep its way into my insides to find a way to kill me. People say they enjoy the rain, they find it relaxing and calming, perfect weather to take a nap in. Finding no comfort in the rain, I stayed inside the building, waiting for the clock to strike 8:45PM so i can get the fuck out of there. Minding my own business I paid no attention to the guy who was making his way through the heavy crowd towards me.

As I stood there up against the wall in silence, he comes up to me, as if i have a sign on my damn forehead that said, "DESPERATE." I was ready to tell him to get the fuck out of my face, when he asked me if i was hungry... not trying to talk to him as much i say,"No."  That same moment, dinosaurs decided to have the most disturbing battle inside my stomach and just growl at everything.  He left. Looking up to the God everyone keeps talking about, I whisper "Thank you," my dinosaurs scared him away.

As I'm walking away I get stopped by the same guy, only this time he is soaking wet! His hair, which was once dry, looked like he was giving a swirlie. Every inch of this man was wet, he then reached down into his pocket and took out a folded napkin, inside that napkin was a beautiful chunk of chocolaty wonder. It looked as it was carved by angels and i had no right to touch it! "You went out into the storm for a brownie?!" i asked him, "Why the fuck would you do such a thing?!?" He looked puzzled, as if i had asked him to give the exact location and temperature of the sun on January 21, 2003. "You were hungry." that was all he said to me as he handed me the most delicious piece of brownie I ever had.  He asked me if i wanted some more, not wanting to be rude, i said "Sure." He then opened the door and said "Follow me."

I can still hear the lighting striking and the thunder clapping as if something big was being celebrated in the sky, i can feel the wind rushing against the trees and the rain is still looking for me to get underneath my skin and kill me.  "I'll just wait here," I said to him. He closed the door, immediately took off his jacket and put it on me, "is that better?" Warm, that's how i felt when he put the jacket on me. Safe, when he took my hand and led me outside the door into the storm and didn't let go. Alive, we got locked out of the building so it's just us two, standing outside the gate, I can feel the water on me. It's getting dark, I see lighting and i just stare at it. "It's so beautiful, yet dangerous. You can stare at it for hours." i told him as i glued my eyes on the lighting. "Yes. I want to stare at it for the rest of my life." not once did he look at the lighting, not once did he take his eyes off of me.

To this day, whenever it's storming and the rain is falling from the skies, the thunder is clapping and the lighting is having an amazing show for the whole world to see.

I step out and dance in the rain.
