*Will be told in Blairs' POV*
Highschool. One word that could ruin a teens entire life forever based on just one moment in time. I walk through the hallways weaving in and out of the people rushing to class or wasting time sucking each others faces. I glance to my left and see my friend, Elsa, sneaking up behind me. I silently laugh. She thinks she is so sneaky. As she comes up behind me I grab her wrists twisting her around into a lock position.
"I thought I told you to stop sneaking up behind me?" I asked as seriously as I could but cracking a small smile at the end so she does not get to scared. We both burst out laughing continuing our path to Chemistry. When we walk through the door I see we have a new seating chart. Great. This is just what I want right now. I slowly but surely find my name on the chart. I look nest to it to see who my partner is. Jack Hudson. Only the hottest guy in school, not to mention the guy who probably doesn't even know I exist. I have had a crush on this guy for about two years and now he is my lab partner. I can barely talk about him yet alone talk with him!
"What am I going to do?" I ask Elsa looking at her, panic racing through my veins, challenging my ability to rationalize my thoughts, the stupid from the smart. She sees that I am nervous and as usual she comes up with a fool proof plan.
"Why don't you just ditch class? That's what I would do if I were you." She says looking at me like its the obvious solution.
"You know I can't do that. I have to get good grades or my future is out the window." I tell her sighing and moving to my new seat, coincidentally located in the very back of the room. I grab out my binder and start to do the warm up. I finish almost immediately and let my mind drift. Where is Jack? Does he like me? Is he as nervous as I am? Wait. He hasn't seen the chart yet. Duh. I start doodling in my notebook. As I draw the little details on the first petal, a deep, husky voice says,
"Hey. Are you Blair by chance?" I blush instantly, keeping my head down. After a second I look up making eye contact almost immediately with his ice blue eyes. Eye contact sends a message of courage, bravery. It tells people that they shouldn't mess with you. I don't like being messed with.
"Yes. And you are Jack, correct?" I say smiling slightly. He laughs a short laugh and sits down next to me.
"I am. How'd you guess?"
"I don't know? I think I'm psychic." I say emphasizing the "c" in psychic. He chuckles and pulls a navy binder from his book bag. He grabs a pencil and starts the warm up, finishing almost as quickly as I did. Almost. Class is boring as usual. I glance at Jack occasionally to find him scribbling a note all through class. Probably for Anna. I start packing up my things as I feel a light tap on my wrist. I look to see a crumpled up note on loose leaf paper. I slowly unfold the note, careful not to rip it. It says:
Dear Blair,
I would love for you to meet me after school, by the fountain because I would like to discuss something with you. I hope you accept for I think it will be worth it.
Love,
Jack
I look up at Jack as the bell rings. He flashes a signature smile, his white teeth flashing in the dim room. I flash a smile at him and pack up my things. This is gong to be the best day ever.
