"Aunt Maisie?" I ask. She is an E.R. doctor but I never expected her to be my doctor! Wow, I feel so much better about this now.
"Yes?" She looks at me awkwardly. She takes a second to recognize me and then she comes over to hug me gently. She hadn't picked up the patient file yet so she hadn't known it was me. She smiles and shakes Jacks' hand.
"Who is this?" She asks smirking at me. I blush and smile lightly.
"I'm Jack, Blair's knight in shining armor." He says wrapping his arm around my back, slowly rubbing circles on it. I blush even more, entering an even darker shade of red. My Aunt laughs along with Jack.
"Nice to meet you Jack. Lets get you checked out Blair. What happened here?" She asks me slowly and gently picking up my hand and examining it. I chuckle. I explain how it happened and she just smiles.
"Always the focused one." She says, pulling out some antiseptic from a cart in the room.
"This might burn a little." She says. Jack shifts on the bed, turning my body towards him leaving my hand in place. He smells so good, and lets me forget the thought of the burning antiseptic that is about to enter the wound in my hand.
"Here we go." Maisie says as she pours the liquid onto the cotton pad. Right as she presses the pad a searing pain erupts in my palm. Jack pulls my face to his and presses his lips onto mine. Immediately I forget the pain in my palm as I move my lips in sync with his. I forget the pain of the antiseptic, the wound, the knife cut. Everything. All I can think about is Jack and how perfect this moment is. He pulls away and smiles. I smile back and look up into his eyes.
"Perfect." He whispers. I giggle and peck him on the cheek. I look down at my hand and Maisie already has two large band-aids covering my wound. I gasp and look up at her.
"I can get a lot done when you two are eating each other's faces." I blush even darker.
"What's next? I want this to get done as soon as possible." I say leaning back on the backboard.
"We just have to put a protective wrap around your hand so it heals properly." She tells me. Jack gets up and goes outside the room. I dismiss the thought and watch Maisie wrap my hand in the white cloth. She then wraps it in a blue wrap, hardening when she finishes. She sends me on my way and I meet up with Jack in the hallway and he finishes up his phone call.
"She is fine, I'm going to bring her back home right now. You can see her at school tomorrow. Bye Elsa." He hangs up the phone and leads me out of the hospital. We take the bus to the high school and get in our cars.
"Wait! Jack, I can't drive." I say.
"Just try, I'll follow behind to make sure your safe." He tells me. I pull out of the parking lot. I put on my jams and drive home. I pull into my driveway in my sky blue convertible. Jack honks at me and pulls into a driveway a couple houses down. He lives by me? Cool. I go into the house. Maisie already called my mom to explain what happened to my hand. I go up to my room to wait for dinner.
