Chapter 9

*Liam's POV*

We just got all of Meagan's stuff moved in, finally.

"How about we-" I started to say, but she kissed me. "Watch a-" I smiled and kissed her back then finished what I was gonna say. "Movie." "I'm gonna go upstairs." Niall mumbled.

"Niall?" I asked, as he went to his room.

"I'll be right back."

I quickly went upstairs. Niall was on his bed laying face down under the covers.

"Ni? Baby boy talk to me, what's wrong?" "Nothing." 

"Niall don't lie to me." "Nothing's wrong." "Niall James Malik" I said in attempt to get him to open up. He didn't answer.

I pulled the  covers off of him but he faught me on it. 

"Niall stop. What's wrong!" He sat up.

"you...you don't pay attention to me. You're too caught up in Meagan.  I told you a thousand  times to help me move a box and you ignored me. You've been ignoring me all day." "No I haven't. I didn't ignore you when you said you weren't feeling good. I gave you medicine.  And I asked for you to watch a movie with us but you ignored us."

I could tell he was getting frustrated.

"You didn't even let us meet her until yesterday and you expect me  to be okay with it!?" He yelled.

"Niall lower your voi-"

"I don't w- I just w- I need my blades"

"Niall? Niall baby boy calm down. You're okay."  He started crying and yelled some cuss words at me.

Meagan walked in.

I noticed he was scratching his wrists. I pulled his arms apart. "Don't do that. Baby stop.." "I'm not a baby!" "you're acting like one. Calm down." He pulled the blankets against him and curled into a ball.

"Let me talk to him." She whispered in my ear.

"Are you sure?" I asked.

She nodded.

I left the room.

*3rd person POV*

"Niall can you sit up please?" Meagan asked sweetly.

He sniffled and sat up, looking down.

"I heard what happened...Listen...When I was...I dunno, 13? 14?...I had a step dad. I didn't like him. But he turned out to be a really nice guy once I gave him a chance. He was a father figure to me. He died last year...."

"I'm s-sorry.." Niall said.

"It's okay. He's in a better place. I've never told anyone that. Not even your dad. This can be our little secret. I know you don't like me. And you think I'm taking your dad from you. You feel left out. And I get that. But I'm not. Your dad will always be here for you and love you. Do you get what I'm saying?"

He sniffled and nodded.

"How about we clean up your wrists then go downstairs?" Meagan asked in her sweetest tone.

"Okay."

Meagan walked out and got Liam. Liam walked in.

"Hey baby boy. Are you okay now?"

"I'm not a baby."

"You're my baby." he said, picking up Niall. He rested his head on his shoulder.

"Baby you know you have to be punished, right?" 

He lifted his head up.

"I'm sorry dad..I was upset.."

"I know."

He sat him on the bathroom counter.

"I want Zayn." "Okay."

Liam went and got Zayn.

"Hey bro. What happened?"

"I'm in  trouble." Niall mumbled.

Zayn shook his head and got a cloth to whipe the area where he scratched his arms.

"Niall you promised me."

"I know, I didn't mean to do it. I was frustrated and didn't realize I scratched that hard."

"man you can't keep getting in trouble."

"I know." Niall mumbled.

Zayn patted him on the shoulder and left.

Niall got up and went to Liam's room.

"Hey..." he said quietly.

"C'mere."

Niall walked over to him with his head down.

"You know why you're being punished, right?"

Niall nodded.

"Can you tell me?"

"I cussed..."

"And?"

"I yelled."

Liam pulled him over his lap.

"You're getting 25."

Niall bit his lip and waited for him to start.

Niall whined and his eyes teared up.

"St-sstoppp!" Niall started struggling. Liam let him up, "Whoa, hey, thats all. It's done. That was 25."

"O-Oh.."

Liam wiped his tears with his thumb.

"Stop cyring baby"

"I c-cant"

"Sshh yes you can." Liam hugged him.

"I'm sorr-sorry.."

"You're forgiven. How about we go lay down?" 

Niall nodded.
