Chapter 12

Gina POV

We arrived home after a few minutes and we walked inside. It's completely dark so Mit led the way with his hand in mine. All of a sudden something falls in the kitchen. Mit and I stared at each other. He looked at me with confusion since Nancy already left to go home. It was just the two of us in the house. Well, it was supposed to be. Mit grabs the closest thing to him which was an umbrella and hands it to me.

"If I die, I want you to hit whoever kills me with this umbrella" he says

"Mit" I say

"Stay behind me love" he says.

I was shocked cause he called me love but I was also confused because I've seen Mit fight before and damn the boy can give a punch. We walk towards the kitchen and we hear murmuring. Both of us glance at each other and try to find the source. Mit saw a man. He grabbed the man ready to give him a blow to the face when there was a scream.

A woman beside him screamed

"NOOO, Mit stop it's just us" she said.

I turned the lights on and I saw his doctor friend with his parents and my in laws. 

"Damn Dev you scared Gina." He said. I wasn't the only one who was scared. He was too! Dev laughs

"Sorry Bhabhi (sister-in-law), we just wanted to surprise both of you." He says with a cheeky smile.

Mit goes on to hug Dev and I look at him so we both could take the blessings from my in laws and Dev's parents. We do so and all of them interrupted us because that formality was not needed. I didn't realize that this was the first time I was meeting Mit's parents after the reception. We needed to act like a married couple before anyone gets suspicious about us. Everyone heads to the living room while I stay back to give everyone water. I enter the living room with six glasses of water for everyone. Everyone thanks me and I offer them food and asked if they were hungry. Everyone said no that they just ate and Dev added that it was too late to eat anything anyways and that if they were hungry they needed to stay that way till morning. I take the water back inside the kitchen and when I turned around Mit was right there.

"Hey" he said

"Hey" I said. He takes his hand and rubs the back of his neck. He's nervous. He comes closer to me. So close that our bodies were now touching.

"So we need to act like a married couple, you know that right" he said. I just nod because he's too close to me and he has a huge effect on me.

"Okay" he says and takes my hand in his and we walk outside.

"Gina, I'm so glad you married Mit. You are so sweet and I'm happy he got lucky with you" Tina my mother in law speaks

"Thank you mummy" I say and she smiles. Mit looks over at me with a smile and we both sit down. Mit starts the conversation.

"So dad how'd you know we were here. I didn't tell you about this place." He said

"I called Nancy and told her not to tell you. I had an idea you would come here since it used to be your favorite place when you were young" his dad said.

We all made casual chit chat before one question caught both Mit and I off guard.

"How was the honeymoon in London?" Dev's mom asked staring at me waiting for a response.Mit glanced at me and spoke for us.

"It was good, auntie" Mit said to Dev's mom while everyone else laughed at how embarrassed I looked. Clearly, everyone mistook my confusion for embarrassment.

"Gina, Mit, when are we gonna get grandkids?" Tina said and at that I turned red. Mit looked at me when kids were mentioned and again he answered.
