Chapter 26

*DON'T PLAY MUSIC YET!!!*

Third P.O.V

Hours turned to Days. Days turned to Months. And white flakes had started to fall. Villages in the Phoenix Alliance were all helpful to Phoenix Drop, but the Village of Phoenix Drop... Was still in ashes. 

The village was still gone. So they lived secretly underground. Where O'kasis couldn't find them.

The other reason.... Aphmau still wasn't getting better. She grew weaker and weaker, each day, each hour, each minute, each second.

Garroth, still worked on helping Phoenix Drop. He would never visit her because it would cause him pain.... But... He didn't understand something...

His actions hurt the one he loved more... He never noticed it... Till today...

Garroth's P.O.V

Villages from the Phoenix Alliance had visited. 

Lord Burt. *HEY HEY HEY HEY! NO NIEN OK DEAL WITH IT! I make him alive! KAY KAY!*

Nicole.

Lucinda. 

And Cadenza.

We were all discussing for preparing on war. Once we finished we all seprated. Till I was asked a question.

"Hey Garroth. Hows Aphmau?"

I froze at her name. I gritted my teeth together and gripped my hands to fists.

"Shes fine....." I replied with a sadden tone.

I left the room and shut the door behind me. I sighed with sorrow. I could still see her joyful face. Her eyes that showed her soul....

"GARROTH!"

I looked to my right to see Laurence.

"Something wrong?"

He caught his breath, "Aphmau... Trouble... Come... QUICK!"

He started to run to Aphmau's room and I followed. Laurence swung the door open. I went inside and stopped in my tracks. A lifeless corpse... On the bed...

"Aphmau...."

My eyes were frozen in place. Hot tears surrounded them. Sliding down my cheeks. Hitting the hard ground. I heard small footsteps enter the room. I heard tiny gasps of horror. I turned around and looked at the ground to see...

"Levin.... Malachi..."

Levin looked in shock. While Malachi had tears. Rubbing his eyes with his small hands. Zoey stood up and looked at the boys.

"Levin. Malachi. I thought I told you to stay with Dante."

I sighed, "Zoey... They needed to know...."

The boys stared at thier mother. Lifeless. They climbed on the bed and hugged her. This brought me in pain. More tears slid down my face.

"I should've stayed with her when I had the chance! I was.... Only thinking of my own suffering..."

 "I'm an idiot.... I'm so selfish..." I mumbled.

*Play music now!*

I looked at the ground in shame. Tears fell to the ground making a small puddle. Zoey took the kids away, Laurence went to tell everyone the news, while I... Was alone with Aph.

"Aphmau..... I'm so sorry... I am no knight or guard. I'm just... A person who brings trouble..."

I tightly held Aphmau's hand. I still looked at the ground. Not bothering to see her lifeless face. I felt something hold my hand back. But I didn't bother. Then I felt it tighten.

"Garroth, your my knight.... And my savior. Your not a person who brings trouble. Your a person who protects. Your the Protector of the Innocent Garroth. And your my knight in shining armor."

I looked up to see a smiling face. Her skin wasn't pale white anymore. She didn't feel cold. I touched her cheek and she leaned on my hand. Closing her eyes and opening them with a small smile. 

I was in doubt, "Is... Are you-"

I was cut with a nod. Once she gave me that nod I tightly hugged her. More tears started to flow down my face. I felt her calmly hug me back. 

"Stop feeling guilt for youself because of me. Like you've said before. Everything will be fine. As long as were together. Right," She asked.

I smiled with a feeling that felt to be gone. Joy....

"Right..... As long as were together...." I replied.

I heard a small sigh of happiness from her. I hugged her tightly.

"Plus. You asked me a promise didn't you. I didn't want to break it." She said.

I sighed, "Right... That promise... For not leaving me."

We seprated from the hug and I sat on her bed. I held her hand tightly not letting go of her grip. I told her what had been happening so far. After I told her everything Zoey came in with Levin and Malachi. They all looked in shock while we both smiled in joy.

Levin and Malachi ran up to us and sat on the bed with us. Zoey left us so we could have some bond time. 

It soon had turned night up above. We all were falling asleep. Levin and Malachi already fell into a slumber. Same with Aph. I was still awake smiling with joy. I looked back at them to see Levin in Aphmau's arms and Malachi behind her. I felt my smile widen. Sometimes I wonder if I should ask her that question yet.... 

But... Nows not the right time... We are in war... And these happy memories... Could be shattered into glass.

I sighed and stopped thinking about it. I laid down beside them all and hugged them. They were my family. And I will protect them.... With all my heart.
