'All good things flow into the city'

I should't have snorted as I had, but I couldn't help it. This....Andrew Ryan was a little too hopeful at some points it seemed. It was fine, perhaps, but just too hopeful for my tastes. Perhaps it was due to the fact of what I used to do before I had decided to come down here. When I had snorted, the family had turned to glance at me. Yes, I gave two of them a semi-apologetic look, mostly the young one. But when the mother had glanced at me, my face set and I was sure I had glared at her at that point. The mother looked away quickly as I crossed my arms. I was not going to say anything to her, but I certainly was going to show that anything she said, she was going to feel stupid for it after words. After a few more minutes of silence, we docked. The four of us anxiously awaited the doors to open. what new wonders, I wondered, was it that we would see and experience? I hoped, frankly that it was something magical. After my life on the surface (which yes, admittedly I created for myself) I believed that I at least deserved a fresh start. A new chance to prove myself again. I needed something new. Something...Different. The little girl squeaked as the doors opened, greeting us was a male and a female. The male was short, squat with a balding head and beady eyes. He looked like a little short rat almost and i almost laughed at this. What site. The female on the other hand made me focus a little more on her. She was a little taller, slender with ruby red hair and a pale complexion. Not to mention she was rather....erm....busty, to put it nicely. Not that that was exactly the first thing to pull my attention to her. Truthfully it was the way that her eyes locked with mine for a moment. Such a pretty pale colour they were. Almost a pinkish, maybe? Maybe it was just the rather...unnatural 'sunlight' that basked through the glass that the city was made of. Whatever the case was, I hardly listened to rat man as I watched her.

"...And we will be showing you to your living quarters and around Rapture."

I blinked and looked back to rat man. Did that mean maybe I would be lucky enough to be shown around? I then realized he may have just introduced themselves and I was too caught up staring at the beautiful woman.

"Shit..."

Everyone stared at me and I gave them the most innocent look that I could actually muster. It wasn't much.

"Sorry, I didn't quite catch your names. I was too busy starting at....past you into the city."

The woman giggled. The man clicked his tongue disapprovingly towards me. I glared at him but sighed as I crossed my arms and looked away.

"I am Mr.Titter and the woman here is Miss Ruby. I will be showing the Misfortune family around and Miss Ruby will be showing you around, Mr. Andrew"

I looked back to the man a little surprised that he knew my name. Did he have a list of the people that would be showing up in Rapture? Or did word just travel fast here? After all it is an underwater city that seemed to stretch on forever, but...

Hold on. Did he just say that the pretty woman, Miss Ruby, would be showing me around? Yes. Yes. Right, then that meant that I had to show some sort of manners right? And maybe conversate? Maybe a joke? What the hell am I doing and why? It probably didn't do me any good considering that I wasn't paying attention before. I wonder if that would count against me? What if she already had someone? Ugh...

"Come along Mr. Andrew. I'd love to show you around Rapture!"

I was silenced and so was my mind as she called for me to follow. With a nod I left, pushing past the family slightly before having something catch me by the sleeve. At first I thought it was the mother, or the father perhaps trying to stop me, but as I looked down, it was the young girl and she looked up with something that I could only describe as...worry.

"Mister...Watch out for the bunny..."

I blinked and started at her for the longest time. Watch out for the bunny? What did that mean? I actually took this to heart. It sounded so genuine and not like the child was just fretting over nothing. Before I could as her what she meant, her mother snorted and grabbed her hand, yanking her daughter away from me and almost growling as if I was trying to steal her child. I opened my mouth to say something, but then shook my head. Looking from her mother, I stole a glance to her child and smiled genuinely at her.

"Don't worry. I will"

"Your a bunny to..."

"Enough child!"

Her mother snatched the little girl and threw her behind herself before trying to burn a hole in me with her stare.

"Leave my little girl alone!"

I backed away as the little girl looked at me teary eyed. Raising my hands, palm down to show I was no threat, much like showing an animal, I nodded.

"I apologize." I hissed through clenched teeth before turning to miss Ruby.

"I'd like to be shown now, Ma'am."

Miss Ruby nodded to be me before gesturing to follow her, which I gladly did. It was time to see this new home of mine and maybe, just maybe, make a new friend along the way.
