In summary; Anthea hated Forks.
She also hated Bella Swan, who hadn't stopped glaring at her ever since she had arrived. The little bitch could be at least a bit grateful seeing as she was here, to save her daughter that she had with the love of her life.
Currently, the spiteful creature was attempting to gain better control of the mental shield she had recently discovered the existence of. She was failing quite pathetically, seeing as she had been 'training' for the past few hours and the progress she had made was almost nonexistence. This resulted in Edward being constantly put through the torture of Kate Denali's electric shocks.
Anthea let out a obscenely loud laugh as Edward let out a sound of pain as the electricity sizzled his skin, causing the newborn to growl in frustration. She was finding her 'training' probably more entertaining then she should. "You're doing great Bells! At this rate the Volturi wont even have a chance at Edward because he'll already be brain dead."
"I don't see you doing anything to help." The much smaller brunette hissed at Anthea who was sitting lazily atop the branch of a near by tree.
With a smirk, she allowed herself to fall all too gracefully to the floor, deep brown curls framing her goddess like features. "Alright darling, how about you try out your little trick on me? That should be enough motivation to actually try."
The newborn glared at her and Anthea's lips curled up into a devilish grin, content with the rouse that she getting out of Bella. Straightening her stance and rolling back her shoulders, the new born's garishly pale face contorted in concentration and the inhabitants of their surroundings watched anxiously as the two female vampires stared each other down. Edward was situated off to the side, gazing flickering between his past and present love, a bewildered expression on his face.
Slowly, Bella pushed the basically translucent shield forward, her eyebrows pulled tightly together as she forced it closer to Anthea. She almost looked victorious when it brushed the imposing vampire's elbow, but all confidence was lost when a red like aura curled up around its edges and began to make cracks in its shell.
It came as easily to breathing to Anthea, she was extremely comfortable with her gift. It took little to no effort to push it so that the red mist like substance continued to creep closer to the newborn. Topaz tinted eyes stared at it the entity in shock and fear, though she attempted to conceal both with determination as she tried her very best to keep her ever weakening shield alive.
"Anthea." Edward warned but the brunette ignored him, pushing it farther, a manic gleam in her eyes that matched the cloud that pooled around her feet and stretched across the expanse of forest ground. Bella scrambled backwards, her once concealed fear turning into complete terror. "Anthea stop it."
"Oh come on Eddie boo, if she's going up against someone like Alec she needs to be prepared." She stated, keeping her eyes on the cowering newborn who was faltering under her hold.
"Thea, stop it!" Edward snarled, suddenly in front of the vampire, a rage fueled fire licking at his pupils as he stared down at his past love.
Anthea stared at his furious features in a meager amount of surprise, never once seeing him so angry. But just as the emotion came,it went and suddenly there was a cool expression of disinterest on her face. "If you think that you're little trick is going to save anyone; you're wrong." She spat towards the pitiful creature who was shriveled up behind her mate. "Weak."
And with that, she disappeared into the forest.
"I'm not going to apologize." Anthea stated flatly, hand flicking upwards causing the innocent tree in front of her to be succumbed by the red mist that once simply circled it, instantly being set ablaze.
"I didn't expect you too," Edward responded just as dully as he took his place beside her, both of them focused on the burning pine in front of them. He wasn't sure why he was here, maybe it was out of interest or maybe even disinterest. Maybe he just wanted the silence that her presence brought to his mind. Though he couldn't say the same for the rest of him, which felt like it was the tree in front of them whenever she was around. He had come to the conclusion that even though his mind hated her, his body was still in love with her. "Are you going to put that out?"
"Maybe. But not right now; it's too pretty." She shrugged, red eyes taking on the appearance of crimson reflective pools, mimicking the appearance of the flames that consumed the once brightly alive piece of wildlife.
"But it's dangerous."
"Just because it's dangerous, doesn't mean it can't be beautiful."
"I guess you're right." He murmured almost silently before fully going quiet.
"Why are you out here Edward? With me, when you should be back in there with your wife and family?" She asked quietly after a moment, her gaze turning to look at the love of her life.
"I'm not sure. I despise you."
Anthea couldn't help but wince at his blunt statement, "I know."
"I think I'm just curious as to why you're actually here; why you agreed to help us."
"Because, you're right; you despise me and without you, there's nothing else to live for."
WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. ANDWARD IS SO FUCKING CUTE OH MY GODD. EVEN WHEN EDWARD HATES HER IT'S ADORABLE.
I GOT THE INSPIRATION FROM WANDA MAXIMOFF BUT THEY'RE NOT EXACTLY THE SAME. ANTHEA'S POWER IS LIKE A MENTAL -AND PHYSICAL- FIRE, SHE CAN BURN OR DESTROY ANYTHING, WHETHER IT BE SOMETHING IN THE MIND OR LIKE THE TREE. I PUT A LOT OF THOUGHT INTO HER POWERS SO I HOPE YOU LIKE THEM.
SIDE NOTE- I JUST WANTED TO SAY HOW MUCH I ENJOY THE FEEDBACK YOU GUYS HAVE BEEN GIVING ME. NOTHING MAKES ME HAPPIER THEN TO SEE COMMENTS ON THIS STORY AND YOU GUYS ACTUALLY TALKING TO EACH OTHER. IT MAKES ME SO HAPPY SO THANK YOU SO MUCH.
LOVE-P.
