**Ellowyn's POV**

With a sense of deja vu, I once more slam my laptop shut. I cannot help but dread what is coming next. There was something worse before and I think that there is the most extreme kind of surprise coming up, and not a good one. I just hope that fate proves me wrong. Hope is all I have. Unfortunately, hope isn't scientific; it isn't factual. It is just hope.

Pulling out my phone and pressing redial, I decide that I need someone to talk to, someone who will say what needs to be said, without sugar-coating it. After a momentary silence, I am presented with the dialtone.

'Hello.' The joyous tone on the other end of the phone instantly makes me feel settled, I answer a quick hi. 'Ellowyn, is that you again?' Mock-seriousness is weaved through his voice, making me laugh slightly.

'Yes Mark, it's me, your favourite person in the whole world.' Now, it is his turn to laugh; Mark and I always had a good friendship. We weren't as close as myself and Danny, but we were close.

'Is everything alright? I take it you've seen what Danny said...'

'Yeah, I've just seen it, you haven't said anything about me calling, have you?'

'Of course not. But, I can if you wan-' Immediately, I cut him off, stopping him from continuing.

'No, please. Not yet. Can we meet up, talk?' I'm slightly nervous at the aspect of meeting Mark again. It has been so long, and Mark is the only one who knows the truth. Well, part of the truth.

'Sure, meet me at the park round the corner from your house.' We agree to meet and say our goodbyes. Pulling on my jacket, I make my way out into the foggy daylight. As I begin walking down the road, a hoard of flashes blind me momentarily. Suddenly, I am being bombarded with questions, questions about Danny. Instinctively, I cover my face and run for the hills. Well, the hill, which I have to walk over to reach the park. By the time I reach the park, I am out of breath and the press are no longer on my trail.

'Ellowyn!' I hear Mark shout from under the shelter as the clouds let loose, a rush of rain pounding down. Sprinting to the shelter, I greet Mark with a big hug. 'It's been so long.. I'm sorry about everything that happened all those years ago.' I nod, showing my appreciation for his words.

'Don't worry about it. What's done is done: you can't reverse the bullet from a gun.' Marks laughs slightly in response.

'Quoting us now are we?' My cheeks flash a vibrant red colour, revealing my embarrassment. I have let my facade slip slightly, so I might as well let it fall completely-dropping, unwanted, to the ground.

'I lied!' At this exclamation, I burst into anger and despair filled tears.

'W..what do you mean, you lied?' Mark's face being the picture of confusion instantly feeds me the overwhelming need to explain myself.

'Where do I even start?' I sigh, letting go of all that was holding me together inside. The operative word being was.
