Finally, I gather my senses and sit myself up against a brick wall. I pull my phone from my pocket, searching my contacts for someone to call. Someone who won't judge me. I pause, debating, as I come across one contact, someone who I don't know very well, that said that they would be there if I ever needed them; Glen. 'Fuck it.' I think as I press dial, holding my breath. Waiting.

'Hello?' Glen's voice fills my ears, reminding me of Danny's Irish accent. This thought sends me spinning into turmoil. Silently, I break down in tears.

'It's me, Ellowyn.' I manage, biting my tongue and stopping myself from spilling all my emotions out right this second. 'You said if I ever needed to talk...' I fade off, unable to continue.

'Okay, well, um..' He hesitates. 'I'm a bit..preoccupied right now, do you want to meet up tomorrow and chat?' He asks, full of the best intentions. Somehow, this doesn't seem to settle with me; I stay silent, willing myself not to explode.

'Are you okay?' That's it, I think, unable to stop myself from reaching the stage of inevitable explosions.

'No I'm not okay!' My voice is loud and angry, but I simply do not care.

'W.what happened?' Glen asks, obviously taken aback by my outburst.

'Daniel flipping O'Donoghue! That's what happened!' Instantly, I shut off the call without waiting for any form of reaction from Glen.

Embarrassed and hurt, I pull myself together. Slowly, I stand, beginning to walk in the opposite direction of the cafe. And in the direction of my house.

As I open the door, I hear a muffled giggle present itself from the living room. Wiping my face to remove any evidence of crying, I open the door. My jaw drops and I stand still, unable to move. Sat on the sofa is Jenny, hence the giggles. However, she is not alone. Sat next to her, in the process of nearly hovering her face off, is Glen. I can see why he said he was busy. Busy making out with my friend on the sofa that I payed for! Okay, so maybe I need to calm down a bit...

Noticing my presence, Jenny tears herself away from Glen and looks in my direction. Instinctively, I turn around and bound up the stairs, barging into my bedroom and locking the door.

For how long I have been sitting here, back pressed against the cold, wooden door, I have no idea. Distantly, I hear my name being mentioned, by who I assume is Glen.

'Yeah, she rang me up. When I asked her what was wrong she just said you.' He pauses, presumably due to being on the phone. Danny! I blamed Dan for my state. Glen must be on the phone to Dan. 'Next thing I know she shows up, tear-stained face, and storms upstairs, where she has locked herself in her room for the last half hour.' Shit. That is one of the many swear words echoing through my mind right now. 'No, give her time. Tomorrow. Yeah. Okay, I will. Yes. I will keep an eye on her. See you tomorrow.' What's happening tomorrow? I ask myself. But my train of thoughts are interrupted by footsteps on the landing.

'Are you staying over?' I hear Jenny ask Glen.

'Yeah, if that's alright? I promised Dan I'd keep an eye on her for him.' I know I shouldn't be eaves dropping on their conversation, but if it concerns me then I am listening. End of.

'Sure it is, I don't mind. Is he coming over?'

'Not now, I said to give her some time to cool off. No doubt he'll be round her first thing tomorrow morning. That, for Danny, will be a miracle. Let's just say early mornings aren't his thing.'

Desperately, I want to shout out and tell them 'No! I'm fine. Tell Danny not to bother! Please!' and beg Glen to ring Danny once more, cancelling this little meet up. But I just can't find the energy to do it.

After endless amounts of staring into space, I manage to pick myself up and lie down on my bed, not bothering to change into my pyjamas and falling straight to sleep.
