Yin and Yang

Chapter 1

NEW STORY! Yes yes I know I haven't uploaded in Metamorphosis, but that's next. I will post more in that one, but for now enjoy this new one. I had this idea and I really wanted to execute it because it just wouldn't go away. So here it is, this one is different, but the same. You'll see why. So here is chapter one of my new story.

Yin and Yang

Chapter 1

With a cup of mountain dew in my hand, I danced to the beat of Duck Sauce's Barbra Streisand. This was the best surprise anyone had ever given me for my birthday. Not only were all of my friends here, but it was also at my favorite eighteen and under club, The Underground, which is owned by my oldest cousin, Lenny. The lights flickered on and off to the beat of the music as all of our bodies flung from one direction to another following the music. I slowly made my way to the bar that had all of the drinks, don't worry, the bar has no alcohol being served. At the bar I consequentially saw my parents and my two ten year old twin brothers, Kane and Zane, sitting. My parents stuck out like a sore thumb, as usual. They were teenagers during the seventies and yes, they were indeed hippies. They never really got over it. Yes, they are pretty old. Some people have asked me if they're my grandparents. I'm not really complaining about it though, they're more interesting and exciting then most parents I've ever met. Most of the other parents tend to stay away from them, but they don't mind much, and neither do my brothers and I. We have a pretty good relationship. We have our issues, but nothing like what my best friend, Boomer, has to deal with. His mom's the only one he's got left because his dad walked out on them a few years ago. His mom's been working two jobs since then, so he tends to stay out of trouble. My parents both love him as do my dorky idiot brothers.

As I approached the table, they also noticed me coming up. Both of my parents smiled at me and they both stood up to greet me. “Are you enjoying yourself?” my mom asked taking me into a hug.

“Yes I am. Thanks, this is an amazing party. How did you guys get it together?” I asked.

“Without you knowing, it was hell. We told Boomer to spread the word without you finding out and well...a week later here it is. And of course Lenny let us do it here for free.”

I smiled. “You guys are the best. You know me too well.”

“We do,” dad replied, “but now it's time for us and the boys to go.”

“Awww, why do we have to go?” Kane and Zane asked like typical twins. Although, it made sense for them. They practically shared the same intelligent brain.

“Because tomorrow you two are going to get your shots early in the morning,” Mom said.

“Why doesn't Reilynn have to get them, too?” Kane asked.

“Because I paid my dues eight years ago when I was ten,” I replied.

They both groaned. My mom took me into her arms again and said, “Happy birthday, honey, I'm glad you're having fun. Don't have too much fun though, I don't want grandchildren yet.”

“Mom!” I said. Even at the age of eighteen, it was still awkward to talk about sex with my parents.

“I'm sorry,” she said. “We're going.”

My dad gave me a hug too and then they left with my brothers. I took a bottle of water and then walked back into the dance floor. As I walked into it, I saw Boomer sitting in a booth. I walked over to him as he just stared at others dance.

“What's up?” I said sitting down in front of him.

“Hey,” he said. “You having fun?”
