depression isn't your glorification of what it is.
it's your personal hell that you can't escape from.

depression isn't flower crowns,
and boys saying that they'll never leave you.
it's not all whiskey stained poetry,
and empty walks through the park.

depression is not getting out of bed,
and going through the motions because what else are you suppose to do?
depression is turning off your phone because you don't feel like speaking.
depression is not having an appetite.
it's having irrational fear that you're not good enough.

depression is not your glorification.
it's not pretty.
it's not easy.
it's not loving.

depression is a mental illness.
it's a setback.
it's the hardest battle you'll ever be in.
it's hell.

stop. glorifying. depression.
my scars aren't triggers.
but your posts are.
