Chapter 2: Unusual Partnership

The Raider group walked in and saw the whole building empty with no sign of anyone inside at all. They readied their weapons a slowly scouted the building. Rosalina peeked her head out from the deli counter and looked over to Otis and Keizer who were behind some tipped over shelves.

"Where's the other idiot?" She asked. They pointed over to the pharmacy counter and there she saw Geoffrey aiming his laser rifle. "Okay, so what's the plan?" She asked again.

"Wait for my go." Otis said pulling three fingers. he brought each of them down and yelled "Fire!"

As soon as the signal was given, they popped out guns blazing. They managed to hit a few raiders but some manage to get behind cover. Geoffrey started to fire but kept missing which caused him to reveal his position. He hit his gun in anger when he saw a frenzy of bullets heading towards him and quickly got behind the counter That's when he realized the protectron was out of it's tube and walking around the back.

"He tin can!" He yelled. The protectron turned to him and stared "These people are robbing the place." Geoffrey lied hoping the machine would fall for it.

"All. Criminals. Will. Be. Apprehended." It said as it walked out the room and began to shoot at the raiders. He chuckled until he saw a grenade pop up in front of him. He quickly got out of cover and over the counter away from the blast radius. He saw a bandit charge at him with a knife, so he quickly pulled out his laser rifle and shot at the bandit.

The bullet hit the bandit causing him to disintegrate into nothing but ashes. Geoffrey cheered in excitement seeing as he finally managed to get a hit on one, but that was interrupted with a bullet to his left side.

He screamed in pain and saw a bandit pull back on his hunting rifle and was ready to fire again. Before he could fire he was quickly shot in the head but Keizer with his sniper rifle. Keizer went back to shooting at some raiders until Otis called him from behind cover. "You gonna help the kid or not?!" He yelled out.

Keizer looked over to Geoffrey who was clutching the bullet wound on his side "Aw come on the kid can barely shoot. Would it really that bad if we let him die?" Keizer asked looking visibly annoyed. Otis shot his shotgun near his foot making him jump "Okay okay I'm going" He said.

Keizer ran out of cover towards Geoffrey, Otis waved at Rosalina "Hey, give him some covering fire!" They continued to fire at the remaining raiders.

Keizer quickly got to Geoffrey to checked on his wound "How is it?" He asked.

"I don't know, maybe you should check the hole on my side." He said in a sarcastic response.

Keizer grabbed a stimpack from his pocket and jammed it into Geoffrey causing him to grit his teeth in pain. "Oh quit don't overreact. There, that should ease the pain a little." Keizer said.

Rosalina and Otis shot at another raider and reloaded their guns when they saw that the last raider had a giant missile launcher aiming at them. "Ah shit he's got a rocket launcher!" Rosalina yelled.

Keizer quickly turned and shot the man straight through the temple, the Raider's body went limp and as he fell the floor, the missile launcher fired towards the roof, hitting it and causing part of the roof to break apart and fall, Rosalina and Otis screeched and covered the heads as the rubble barely missed them. Rosalina and Otis slowly raised their heads and peeked at the rubble and then glared straight at Keizer.

"What? Don't look at me that way. That could've gone a lot worse." Keizer said in defense.

Rosalina and Otis walked towards him, dusting themselves off "Yeah, well warn us next time you plan to kill us by crushing us to death, give us a heads up dumbass." Otis said.

"That can be arranged old man." Keizer said try to test him.

Otis stepped closer "I'm not that old buddy"

"Oh yeah, okay, what would you being alive for 200 years, that makes you pretty old in my book you freak." Keizer said mocking Otis.

Geoffrey raised his free hand keeping his other on his wound "Uh yeah, don't mind me, I'll just sit here and bleed to death. I hear it's not that bad." Geoffrey said in pain.

"Well, jeez someone's a complainer." Rosalina commented. "Where are we gonna take him?" She asked.

Otis and Keizer got Geoffrey's arms and helped him up making Geoffrey cringe in pain. "Relax buddy, it's just a bullet wound, not like it's gonna kill you." Otis laughed "We'll take him to Megaton just up ahead, the doc there can patch him up, and well I guess to start a clean slope I'll buy us all a drink." He recommended.

"Now your speaking my language." Keizer said with a smirk.

Later that day

The gates to Megaton opened as Keizer, Otis and Rosalina walk through still assisting Geoffrey who's injury was now getting worse.

A man with a cowboy hat and duster walked up to them "Otis? Who is this? and who are these people here?" The man asked

"Hey Lucas, this guy got shot and these two... um... you could say their acquaintances I guess." Otis said.

"I see. Well, as long they don't cause any trouble I guess they're welcomed. You better get this one to doc church quickly though." Lucas said.

Keizer, Otis and Rosalina quickly made their way down the hill and towards the small metal structure. Otis grabbed the door and quickly opened it.

"Hey doc, we got a wounded man coming in." Otis said, Keizer entering still carrying Geoffrey with Rosalina following behind.

"Oh boy, so what's his problem? And don't tell me he has some kind of stomach ache." Doc Church said in a bitter tone.

"Not a very pleasant person is he?" Keizer whispered to Rosalina. All she gave was a nod in agreement.

Otis bought Geoffrey to a bed to let him sit down "He got a bullet wound from a raider on his left side." Otis reformed Church.

Church crouched beside Geoffrey and motioned for him to move his hand where the wound was. Geoffrey revealed the bloody wound and Church began to examine it "Huh, It's in there alright, but the good news is it didn't hit a vital organ." He said.

"So he'll be fine?" Rosalina asked

"He should be fine, but it's gonna take me a while to remove it and patch him up, so while I'm doing that, you all can scatter." He said.

All three left the room leaving Geoffrey with Doc Church. As they stepped outside they were greeted with Lucas Simms waiting for them.

"So what's the word on your friend? Is he alright?" Lucas asked

"Yeah the doctor said he should be fine." Keizer answered "Hey, is that guy always a big hard ass?" He asked

Lucas chuckled "Doc Church is always a little cranky but don't take it personal, he's like that with everyone."

"Well he's got a stick way far up his ass if you ask me." Rosalina commented.

All Lucas did was roll his eyes and then turned to Otis "By the way Otis some supplies came in for you. I think Wadsworth is holding onto them at your place." Lucas said

"Thanks, I'll head there now." Otis said thanking Lucas as he headed back up the hill.

Keizer gave an upset look "Hey? What about getting us some drinks asshole?" He yelled

Otis turned "Hey the bars not going anywhere. Come on." He said

Rosalina followed and Keizer slapped his hands on his legs soon followed.
