THE DARK ELECTRICTY OF JESSICA BITTERROOT (Book #2 of the Dark Flow Series)
So I am posting the beginning of a new novella, which is a work in progress. It is actually a follow up to The Dark Flow of Jessica Bitterroot. In the first book, a girl named Jessica Bitterroot is murdered in San Fransciso and turned into an "angel" with telekinetic powers. Her first assignment in the afterlife is to help J.K. Rowling get her first novel published. Jessica goes back in time to 1995 to Edinburgh Scotland where Rowling is writing the novel inside a coffee shop. The whole thing has supernatural twists and turn and lessons about destiny. Unfortunately that novel has an exclusivity right with Amazon KDP so I cannot post it here for you guys to read, but *if* you want to read it you can look up The Dark Flow of Jessica Bitterroot on Amazon. You don't *have* to read it for the second novella to be enjoyable, but it helps immensly. So right now I am working on Book #2 The Dark Electricity of Jessica Bitterroot and what I have done so far is posted below.
** It is in rough draft status right now so I will take help, suggestions, feed back, and just general amounts of love from anybody who is willing to lend it.***
THE DARK ELECTRICTY OF JESSICA BITTERROOT (Book #2 of the Dark Flow Series)
Thing #2 that humans don’t know: All love is tainted by the dark flow
“The Dead Red Head, that’s what I want my super hero name to be,” I said to the moon-faced man from the burning poppy field. “You know, since I have red hair and since I’m dead. Clever, right?”
“You’re not a super hero,” moon-faced man replied stoically.
“But I have telekinetic powers like a super hero. I can move objects with my mind! Even Superman can’t do that. Not even Batman. Cat woman, flexible sure, but beyond the rubber bodysuit she’s just a glorified Zumba instructor. The Dead Red Head could totally take her out.”
“Having telekinetic powers does not make one a super hero, Jessica.”
“But I don’t sleep or eat, or sweat… plus I protect humans from evildoers. So if I can’t be an angel, which you’ve made abundantly clear I can’t be, I at least want to be a super hero. Maybe I can join the X-Men.”
“How many times do I have to tell you, Jessica? Being dead does not make one an angel… and it most certainly does not make one a super hero.”
“But I even have a costume just like real super hero.”
“A costume, Jessica? Are you referring to that indecent leopard print dress you died in? That can hardly be considered a cape of justice.”
“The Dead Red Head doesn’t need a fancy cape or titanium plating or reflective shields.”
“Stop referring to yourself as The Dead Red Head.”
“But I need a super hero name and that one fits.”
“No.”
“I don’t care what you say, all signs point to me being a super hero.”
“Definitely not a super hero.”
“Oh come on, why not?”
“There are big differences between you and a super hero.”
“Differences like what?”
“Super heroes can’t get their hearts broken.”
Chapter 1
The Bright Lights of 1886
How many sixteen year olds does it take to change a light bulb?
The answer is, just one, if that sixteen year old happens to be an “angel” with telekinetic abilities. I’m Jessica Bitterroot, and yes, I’m dead. Yes, I died wearing this tragically tacky leopard print dress you see me in. No, I do not have the option to “just take it off.”
