It's clear to say they've never gone along, but history shows otherwise. Monsters and humans shared the surface together. Lived in pure harmony. Ruling the earth. For causes yet to be discovered, war broke out between the two. The humans souls were to pure, and they were unbeatable. They forced monsters underground and into the ruins for good.
King Asgore, the king of the monsters wanted peace and harmony with the humans, but sorrowfully denied when the humans attacked. Any human who entered the underground, would die. They'd never come back.
All for a boy, small, a deep brown hair, and pale skin, a human. He had little knowledge of what he'd been in for. He slipped, and fell down a whole that led to the underground, where no human had ever return. The small pebbles from rocks broke off and left marks on the boys face. He landed, but not with a thud, but with a breeze of leaves under him.
He followed the trail down a dark hallway, that seemed endless as he continued, a left turn to be seen, he made it. As darkness filled the room, light only shun on a general spot. A flower who grew a smile when the boy came near.
"Howdy! I'm Flowey! Flowey the Flower!" said the odd plant.
The boy gave a smile.
"Hm. Your new to the underground aren't ya? Golly! You must so~ confused! Someone ought to teach you how everything works around here! I'll have to do!"
The boy just smiled.
"Now then you'll start off weak but you can grow strong by gaining lots of LV! What does LV stand for? Why LOVE of course! You want some love don't ya? Don't worry, I'll give you some!"
Strange white dots float around the flower.
"Love is shared through little tiny white...friendliness pellets..." snickered the flower. "Ready? Move around! Get as many as you can!"
And so the boy did. The pellets moved towards him, floating and going fast. The boy attempted to grab one but was pushed away, his soul hurt, and damaged. The flower grew an evil grin. Massive teeth with his mouth wide open.
"You idiot. In this world, it's killed or be killed." Smirked the flower. "Why would ANYONE pass the opportunity like this?!"
The white pellets came out, lots of them, and over hundreds of them swarmed the boy in a circle, with no escape to be made.
"Die," said the plant.
The pellets grew fast, as the boy could not stand. They charged for the boy. The flower laughing.
