CHAPTER 4
Hunter’s POV
“You know something’s been bothering me.”
“Really what?” Replied Sydney.
We were on our way to the car park people everywhere starring at us, and trying to figure out who I am. HAH my disguise is way too good for them.
“What did you mean before, by ‘at least that’s what the public knows’?”
She froze and went silent; I looked down at her and noticed her expression had completely dropped. Did I say something wrong? Her eyes were widened and her lips pressed together, what’s wrong?
Maybe there’s more to it than a car accident…
“Ha ha you caught onto that eh?”
“Yup.”
She looked like she was going to be sick.
“You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to. I am a stranger to you after all.”
She looked up at me and smiled slightly before looking away. I put an arm around her shoulders and pulled her close to me.
“Alright?”
“Yeah I guess, you’ll probably find out sooner or later.”
“Why is that?”
“Just a feeling.” She mumbled looking away.
“Whe-“
“Hunter is that you?” A new familiar voice said cutting me off.
I looked up to see Adrian glaring at me; surprisingly he had a very good looking girl under his arm. I smirked at him which just made him glare more. He took a look at Sydney then froze, his eyes going wide; the girl next to him hadn’t noticed Sydney yet so I took this as my chance to get away without attracting attention.
“Hey Aid its great seeing ya. But I have to get going, you know now.”
He nodded in understanding. “Um. Y-yeah .. we-wai-but.” He stuttered not taking his eyes of Sydney.
Sydney giggled. “Pleasure to meet you.” She held out her hand smiling at him.
“You too.” He shook her hand and nearly collapsed.
The girl he was with had to help him stand up right. I couldn’t help but laugh at his reaction,Sydney was already laughing. I’m surprised the girl with Adrian still hadn’t realized she’s next to THE ‘Candice Brook.’
“I’ll see you tomorrow alright Adrian.”
“Y-yeah t-tomorrow.” He mumbled still starring at Sydney.
The girl he was with now noticed he was starring in my direction so she turned around glaring; I quickly jumped in front of Sydney so she wouldn’t recognize her.
Her eyes went wide when she saw me, then a flirtatious smile came onto her face.
“Hello handsome.” She purred letting go of Adrian and placing a hand on my chest.
I looked at Adrian who shrugged. “Sorry to disappoint you babe but I’m taken.” I winked at her before turning around to Sydney.
Taking her hand in mine I lead her to the car park.
“See you later.” I yelled out to Adrian.
“Thanks.”
“For what?”
